I hate how they don't give the EDGE fit jerseys for Calgary's retro. The old style jersey makes everyone look fat.

I look great in it, the problem is I traded for Wellwood.

Man that's a lot of buttons...reminds me of trying to do a finishing move in Mortal Kombat.

I know. Maybe I should trade for Wellwood and put him in a retro jersey. That should intimidate the other team.

Can anyone explain why a code is needed? Why not just do an update?

This drives me nuts. Last year for some reason the code wouldn't save with my profile, so I ended up having to enter it each time I played. In addition to this last year PC users were able to crack the game right away and see the code and they all had to be approached by EA and asked not to reveal it so they don't get sued. That seems like a lot of effort to keep something secret that you shouldn't have to include in the game in the first place. How big of an update could that be?
There has to be a reason, but haven't the first clue why that is. Jobo maybe has an idea?
edit: I suppose that it's for people without online. I see the logic, but many games use online to patch very damaged aspects of their games. If you don't have online you'd run into many more problems than just not having up to date jerseys.

Agreed. It's because its not the Reebok vintage jersey, its an actual retro one...and a sloppy one at that. All they did was take the Atlanta Flames retro from NHL09, and replace the "A" symbol with the flaming C. But look at the white on the sleeves and torso: its still in the style of the Atlanta Flames.
Compare an Atlanta Flames jersey with a Calgary Flames 80's jersey, the piping is different. On an Atlanta Flames jersey the white stripe was much fatter than the yellow on either side, like in the game. But with a CALGARY 80's jersey, the yellow and white are all the same width. Just careless on the designers' part to assume it was the same without actually looking into it. Funny how they didn't mess up on the countless Canucks retro jerseys offered in the game. How can you tell the game's made in Vancouver...

One good reason is that not everyone has their system hooked up to Live or PSN. Having it a code instead of an update allows them to unlock something that's already there but wasn't allowed to be released until the jerseys were unveiled.
