Yeah, totally fracking rocked it out. Smallest venue they've played on their tour and I for one am thankful I got to see them live. Russian Folk Metal? Yeah sure I'll try a bit of that. Really really tight live. And no, there were no english Lyrics. Don't understand a word she is singing.
As good as I think the new Ghost album is, I haven't seen a live video from them I like. The vocalist just doesn't have a strong enough voice outside of the studio
And talk about a guy who doesn't look like he sounds. When you see him in his get-up and hear him talk after listening to his singing style, it's like...really?
Also, it has been the same guy the entire time, right? Papa Emeritus I is Papa Emeritus III?

That is correct.

Neither here nor there but I was in Linkoping a couple weeks ago...where Ghost is from. Singer is (most likely) Tobias Forge.

Not sure Canada dates have been announced but they are expected soon.
I don't know if I'd classify Rammstein as metal, but some people likely do and I don't know where else to stick this reply so the Metal thread it is.
The new Rammstein Blu-Ray, Amerika, arrived yesterday and I watched the concert portion. I highly recommend it, even for non-Rammstein fans as their show is quite entertaining.
This concert footage was taken primarily from the MSG Dec 2010 show. There is also a two hour + documentary disc that I haven't watched yet but I certainly look forward to it.
I saw them at Greenfields in Switzerland in 2013 and I have to say it was the best show I've ever seen.
Speaking of documentaries, has anyone seen the one about the Scorpions? It is on Shaw VOD right now. I lost interest in the Scorpions after the Blackout album, but the documentary was very good.

Not a big Ghost fan but Circle is one of the better songs I have heard from any band this year.

Definitely had this on day one, and it has been a long time coming, as that tour was five years ago. I've seen Rammstein live five times (twice in Europe and thrice in Canada), and the show is incredible. They've been my favourite band for a long time.
My friend was at the MSG show featured on the Blu Ray (some Montreal footage is spliced in also) and it supposedly wasn't their greatest show, but the production on the Blu Ray is great and it's well worth the money. The documentary is awesome too.

Any chance Rammstein ever coming to Calgary or someplace close by?
They came back to North America for the first time in 10 years on their tour a few years ago, but skipped Calgary. They did Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and some dates out east. The things we hear about the Dome as being non-ideal for musical acts applies doubly so for Rammstein I'd imagine, as the show is very prop and pyro heavy, so yeah. It hasn't happened yet, anyway.

Skálmöld the Icelandic Viking metal band did a great live concert this last year which is up on youtube.
The guitar player is really good, rest of the band meh but I watched most of it for the guitar. Incredible tone, I'd love to hear it without the singer. His voice was way too loud in the mix.
