"2012 Spring Sprint" Raffle Fundraiser - $800 Raised. Thank you CP!
I would first like to thank the CP forum mod team for accepting my request to post a raffle fundraiser in the Buy/Sell Forum. I am very grateful.
On the morning of Monday May 7th, A close childhood friend of mine lost his fight with brain cancer at the young age of 24. He was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour shortly after graduating from University while working abroad in Australia. Before he passed away, he was determined to run in the annual "Spring Sprint" which raises money and awareness for the Brain Tumour Foundation. Unfortunately, as his conditioned worsened in the past months, it became evident he was not going to be able to participate in this run.
I will be participating in the run with the team his family created, The Szpecht-acular Sprinters (Play on words with their last name).
What's in it for you:
Over the years, I have been approached on several of my jerseys requesting a price. Previously I have not been able to put a price on them...until now.
I am offering raffle tickets for your chance to win your choice of jersey from my large jersey collection. These include all the jerseys I have posted in the "For Sale" thread of mine, AND the jerseys I dont have listed for sale(With an exception of a handful of sentimental value jerseys), there are no limits to the jersey you can win.
Pledges and donations can be made by clicking the "Brain Tumour Foundation" logo below. As donations are made, I will keep track and write up tickets as pledges and donations are made. Dont forget to include your name with the donation, so I can give thanks to where it is deserved and get your ballot filled out. Upon donating, Tax receipts will be sent immediately(on donations over $20 i believe) by the website. So not only can you win a jersey, you will be able to submit the donation with next years tax return!
UPDATE: Thanks again to everyone who has supported myself and the Szpecht-acular Sprinters. The team you all have been sponsoring has raised a grand total of $47,060 to date! This makes them the top fundraising team in Canada. With your help, I shattered my initial goal of $250 with a whopping $800, $665 of which came from CP. I'd like to thank the mods again for allowing me to post this thread in the first place and then moving it to the "Off-Topic Forum" Thanks a bunch! Though the jerseys have been drawn for, Donations continue to be welcomed. I'm sure the team would be thrilled if they could make the $50,000 mark.
