Anyone watching Ascension?

Just watched the first two parts last night. Enjoying it thoroughly.

Just watch out for spoilers, there is a pretty big one after the end of the first episode.

Premise:

Ascension is inspired by the real-life Project Orion that existed under the administration of President John F. Kennedy. The show sets up an alternate version of reality in which, in 1963, President Kennedy and the U.S. government, fearing the Cold War will become hot and lead to the destruction of the Earth, decided to launch a covert space mission. They sent 350 voluntary men, women and children into space on a century-long voyage aboard the USS Ascension, a massive, self-sustaining generation ship. Their mission is to colonize Proxima Centauri, assuring the survival of the human race. Nearly 50 years into the journey (i.e. in the present), as they approach the point of no return, the mysterious murder of a young woman — the first homicide since their departure — causes the ship's crew to question the true nature of their mission.

Sounded like my cup of TV, but I didn't find it on my guide, what's it playing on?

Not the best at tracking this sort of stuff down, but what network is it on other than SyFy? Did a quick look the other night when it premiered but had no luck finding it...

oh it looks like it isn't going to be officially on Canadian TV til January when CBC will carry it.

Unusual for a SyFy co-production, CBC but not until Jan 2015.

Strange how quickly this show was broadcast and is now over.

It's rare you see a 3-night series. In a world where you have to wait 3 years for some shows to continue their story, this one is over already.

It was originally planned to be shown one episode every week for six weeks. They are now showing it over 3 days by turning 6 segments into 3 feature length episodes back to back. I wonder what the strategy behind that is.

Seemed like a great plot till you figured out what was really going on and then it fell apart for me.

I fell asleep during the second half of Episode 1, but the end of that episode I definitely did not see coming. Will probably watch the rest tomorrow with my wife, who loves this kind of thing.

I was interested till they had to 'spice it up' with a murder. Seriously, there's more than enough for a plot there.

I wish it was HBO so we could see endless amount of nudity, because this series is so heavy into the sex and hot women.

I started watching based on the premise so at first I was unhappy with the twist, but actually grew to like it. The second twist I'm not sure about.
Are they making a second season?

Filmed in Montreal too, theres several shots of the skyline.
