Default J.K. Rowling regrets putting Ron and Hermione together

HSS Harmony, arise!

Wouldn't a Hermione/Harry relationship been just that much more expected and cliche?

The Hermione/Ron relationship was one of the few things I appreciated about the movies in that it was not a typical Hollywood plot point.

edit- it would have been even better if none of them ended up together (or perhaps if Ron and Harry became a couple).

Ron and Hermione together and Harry and Ginny together fit perfectly for me.

Ron overcame the Friendzone, and Harry nailed his best friend's sister who was OK with it. They are heroes in my eyes.

And you know that there was some errr experimentation when they graduated Hogwarts and went to wizard college.

That's why Harry and Ron had trouble making eye contact in the last scene of the movie.

Ron and Hermoine always felt so forced. I'm glad Rowling admitted this.

What annoys me is that a lot of the R/H-oriented fans use reasoning/excuses that have literally almost nothing to do with the character development or literature of the books themselves.

"too cliche, too hollywood"
"its nice that 2nd fiddle guy gets the girl for once"
Etc.

Harry went into self-imposed siblingzone.

Sibling zone is worse than friend-zone. It's like the relationship equivalent of limbo or purgatory.

I saw the first Harry Potter movie and that was it.

Those kids were so little, in my memory, thinking about them hooking up is just weird.
