I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.
Best saturday morning ever was Dungeons and Dragons. 'form of....acrobat'
I loved this show but remember how it would always get lost in the programming shuffle. If i remember correctly it was on towards the later part of the morning and would often get pre-empted by pro and college sports games.
With regards to "form of... acrobat" I feel you're conflating dungeons and dragons with the wonder twins from the justice league
Southside Mirror (I assume there was a North Side Mirror too).
Basically an area newspaper, somewhat like Neighbours is now, but was produced independantly.
I was old enough to remeber the Herald was delivered at 4pm everyday.
Palm Milk, which turned to Legend, delivery in the milk chute at the side of the house. Had to order off the sheet and leave it for the next week along with the cash. Odd time my mom would get chocolate milk, Beep, or those other fruit drinks in those single serve cartons.

That's not all the milkman delivered to your mom!
IIRC, Neighbours is the Mirror, just renamed.

Yup, I even remember the glass bottles with the foil type lid. Also the ice cream truck wasn't a truck but a kid on a bike with a big cooler attached to the front. He didn't play music but rang a bell as he rode along.
The Shoppers Drug Mart/Dairy Queen catching on fire on Memorial Drive in NE.
I remember that. We lived just around the corner. A friend of mine who worked at the DQ was at work when the fire started.
There used to be a shoe-repair shop in the corner next to the DQ. The owner also sharpened skates and when I was in a hurry for a 5pm practice after school we would take the skates over there for a quick sharpen instead of going all the way to B&P's. He did a pretty good job.

Speaking of XL radio, I remember some trash talking leading up to a Lions - Stampeders playoff game. The Lions players made a song called Beat Calgary, based on Pop Musik by M. "Are you ready Leon?, it's time to get this song on, Beat, Beat, Beat Calgary."
Calgary replied with Born To Beat The Lions, from Born To Be Alive by Patrick Hernandez.

don't remember if it was XL or AM 106, but during the '86 playoffs one of those stations remade this song, changing it to "Flames Go All the Way":
...and this to "I Wanna Be a Calgary Flame". The video is saved by the presence of Lemmy.
