But that shot they aired of the enhanced "blown-up image" was a little misleading. That frame- yeah, there was no separation. But you go one more frame forward and blow it up, while the clock is still at 0.1, and you can argue there IS separation, and you can see the white between the puck and the goal line. However, Hiller's blocker is blocking the entire puck from being seen.
Still surprised that it was ruled no-goal, especially so quickly. Burke is gonna lose his ish if the USA lose this one. Probably will go ballistic anyways.

But the camera is at an angle, so even if you see a bit of white it could be attributed to the angle the camera is at. That's why the red line is visible in the first place; the cross-bar should be covering it if it were a straight up and down shot.

World feed used by IIHF shows the puck on the line.

I have always wondered this. How can they ever be sure when they can't truly see the red line from directly above?

They need to have cameras embedded in the crossbar looking down.

They need to have a radioctively glowing puck with sensors in it, and lasers, and GPS and some other stuff...
Yeah...thats what they need.

Well the Swiss took too many penalties and the Americans get another lucky goal.

If they didn't have this technology ready on June 5, 2004... then the teams don't deserve it today.

Ugh. What a joke... USA gets a goal on a powerplay generated by a Kessel dive.

The Swiss are likely done now. Poor Hiller.

That was a bizarre bounce into the net. The puck went at a right angle with no one touching it.

If that was indeed in, it would not have bounced back out.
