Real wages being down is largely due to the inflation caused by Trump's tax cuts, supply chain disruptions caused by Putin's war, and lingering effects of the pandemic. The effects of climate change could be having an impact too. Also, increased automation and AI is reducing demand for workers in some sectors.
In other news, "Dementia Joe" was on Seth's show last night. Clearly "losing his mind" lol.
Calling himself a "zionist" wasn't a particularly savvy political move based on the current climate.
He's been consistent on that position. I agree, I cringed a bit when he said it, but he's consistently been saying this for months now. It's not new. I thought his immediate line about deaths in gaza was a bit of a departure from his normal messaging on the topic, and his subsequent commentary indicates that they are definitely taking a different diplomatic approach than publicly discussed in the media at least, trying to dangle the larger carrot of recognition and acceptance by neighbors in front of Israel in an effort to motivate a change in tactics.

The end of an era. Unfortunately, whoever steps in to fill McConnell's shoes will very likely be worse than this obstructing POS. Mitch McConnel deserves considerable blame for turning the United States Supreme Court into the partisan, right-leaning, religion-driven, women-hating entity that it is today.

Trump applied to the NY appellate court to have the fraud judgment stayed because basically he couldn't afford the bond amount to appeal. He said he could afford $100M.
I thought they might go for it because he said he'd have to liquidate assets (i.e. sell a building) to pay the $450+M but the request was denied. He has to pay the full amount to appeal.

I haven't taken a close look at the immigration bill they're trying to pass. Is it true that it's essentially the same as the one the GOP tried to pass 4 years ago?
