The way things are going, Irving won't be leaving Abby to come to Calgary. He'll be off to some other AHL affiliate. He was awful tonight, and bad all season.
Granted, the team in front of him wasn't spectacular either, but he needed to give them a chance to win.

It's little extreme saying he has been bad all season when his season has consisted of 5 games over 2 months. He has been given no chance to get into a rhythm and in his last 2 starts while lackluster himself, the Heat hung him out to dry as well.

The problem is there are no jobs in Europe for borderline NHL goaltenders during the lockout and the Flames/Heat prepared for there to be a season. Irving is only there to get some work now and then and practice with the team and work with Malarchuk & Sigalet during the lockout.

If he was not in the Flames plans for at least this season he would have been exposed on waivers instead of being signed to a PTO

Just came back from the game. A couple mistakes and not getting a big save early cost the team. Didn't think the team played particularly well but not horrible as the score would suggest. I liked the Bancks-Reinhart-Horak line. The team needs the offense from Baertschi and Walter back to help them out secondary scoring seemed to be missing most of the night. Nemisz looked good as the game wore on but do think it may be a couple more games till he is able to get back on the top lines. I was disappointed in Irving but I think a lot of his play has been due to lack of confidence. He didn't particularly play bad and a couple turnovers and odd man rushes caused the goals but he does need to find a way to make a timely save.

Not sure if it was mentioned but Howse only played a couple shifts and left with an injury and I didn't see him return. Not even sure what type of injury looked like his arm at first but when he got to the bench he was spitting blood so was kind of surprised that he didn't come back.

It was a great November for the team but December has started off pretty bad.

Ward's post-game interview. He was pretty funny before the camera turned on.
