On the last SNL there was a skit with Bill Hader playing the role of a confused old news reporter.

I was trying to explain to my wife that I thought that they were mocking an actual local news team that had a live on-air arguement. When she asked me how I knew that I told her that I saw it on CP.

I think it was in funny picture/video thread, but I have now idea how to find something specific in there. Does anybody have a link to that?

BTW I thought that Saturday's episode was the best in a long, long time.

"let me teabag you all day long." LOL

No matter what you think of his music, JT is one the best hosts SNL has had. Every time he hosts, pretty much every skit he is in is funny.

Hahaha I've seen that skit a few times on SNL now, had no idea it was based on an actual altercation. Just thought they made up a bit about a random "should've retired years ago" old reporter. But that clip's gotta be what its from, especially seeing as it was an NY station. That makes it even funnier.

Agreed the season finale was very good, even the post-Weekend Update sketches, which is usually when it goes downhill. Pretty much guaranteed it was gonna be funny though, considering basically every sketch was either a remake of a "best of" from JT's previous hosts (Liquorville, Digital Short), or a "best of" from this year's season (Herb, robots in amusement park ride, Barry Gib talk show[not from this year obviously], etc). Felt they played it pretty safe considering that, still funny though.

JT killed it again. Bill Hader was in a lot of sketches which is always a good thing.

Easily the best SNL this season. The only skit that was a clear miss for me was the Secret Word game show. This episode will be on my pvr for awhile.

Secret Word is always terrible and hopelessly repetitive.

JT was fantastic.

I thought this week with Will Farrell was the season finale, but there is one more show:

Mick Jagger ‏ @MickJagger Really looking forward to hosting @nbcsnl next Saturday. @FooFighters & @ArcadeFire among the guests, should be a great show #SNL

The season finale is usually full of drop-in celebrities. It night be the final show for veteran cast members like Wiig, Samberg and Hader.

I think tomorrow's & next week's are both going to be great.

Not looking forward as much to next season... like troutman mentioned I presume Wiig, Samberg & Hader may be leaving, and they've really been keeping the show going the past couple years.

Oh well, SNL seems to find a way.

Hader leaving? I could have sworn I heard it was Sudekis leaving. I actually don't care much for Samberg. His Digital Shorts are rarely funny anymore. Sudekis has his moments. Wiig and Hader leaving is a pretty big blow though. Hopefully Armisen sticks around a while longer. Him and Wiig always make me laugh, no matter what they do.

This last season has been pretty meh. A few memorable skits... I do like some of the new cast members, like Vanessa Bayer and Nasim Perdad. I had high hope for Jay Pharaoh, but outside of his impersonations I've found him pretty underwhelming.

^ Right - I think it is Sudekis and not Hader that could be leaving.

I think Kate McKinnon will be the next SNL star - she has a real presence in the couple of skits I have seen, ex. Helga Lately.

Yeah I caught that skit the other night. Didn't really know who she was, but she definitely had a confidence about her that screams potential.

I know Lorne Michaels was talking about scouting out some of the dark comedy clubs to find some fresh blood for next season, and Kate must be the start. But I think what they really need though is some new writers in preparation for yet another reboot.

Edit: I have no idea why...but out of the blue I remembered this skit from when Jonah Hill hosted. Found it online, laughing ensued.

A very nice send off tonight. Infact that was my 2nd favourite send off, only Chris Farleys was better.

Awesome send off for Wiig. She couldn't hold in the tears.

She'll be missed. Best female talent the show has seen? I think so, she's definitely the most versatile.

Wig leaving is good for the show. She has fallen into a rut and has essentially distilled herself into her Bridesmaid character. She also takes up a lot of screen time that could be split between Nasseem Pedron and Vanessa Bayer.

I don't know how you draw that conclusion. What skits tonight featured her as her similar to her Bridesmaids character? What skits this season are you referring to? If anything, she's widened the type and amount of characters she's played this season.
