Fairmont BC, suggesstions
So I have rented a place out in Fairmont Friday - Monday. I am surprising my wife for our anniversary.
She says I never do anything romantic, so yeah in your face!!
I am looking for CP's recommendations on this to do, places to go, hikes, any suggestions welcomed.
My plan is for us to head out and explore.
Thanks in advance.

If the weather is nice (28+ degrees), my suggestion is to buy a couple cheap inflatable rafts and float down the columbia river. The float starts just up the road from Fairmont and takes a couple hours meandering through the golfcourse. It is one of the most enjoyable things I can think of to do up there when the weather is nice. Load up on some beer and snacks and you're set.
You could also go for a glide at the airport, hike Mt. Swansea, go up to Panorama for the day, etc.
Also, don't forget to make a stop at the Whitehouse in Windermere on a Saturday night. It is a unique experience.

Another thumbs up for Lussier Hot Springs. Really a neat spot but be careful if you go in the evening. Hippies be gettin naked... Romantic? Perhaps.

Could go up to Whiteswan (natural hot springs on the river). Hike up to the hoodoos. Hit up Panorama (if the Elkhorn is open in the summer take her there for raclette). Tons of bike trails if you like that sort of thing. Coys is a fun little par 3 course that runs through an old farm.

Go to "From Scratch" for dinner. The food is amazing, and it's a nice little bistro. It's in the little strip mall by the entrance to the hot springs.

Buy her a day spa pass and go golfing with your buddies.

I've been going to invermere for 20 years and have never once heard of or seen anyone with swimmer's itch. It's a giant river?

We were there last month and they have signs up all over at the public beaches, regarding swimmer's itch.

Fairmont pizza is pretty good, the guy from Rockies in Radium moved in there. The guys are Canuck fans though, be sure to show up in a Flames hat or shirt, they will for sure comment on it. Also encourage you to make the trip to Panorama, it's a nice drive up the mountain along the Toby river.

That Whiteswan lake? Went camping, hiking and biking there once. Floated around on an air mattress. It was great.

Invermere has had public postings about showering after going into the lake many a summer due to swimmer's itch.

My wife was recently out of surgery so we just took it easy on the forestry roads. Good views!
