HIFK lost 3-1 tonight and lost the series 4-1. Ortio with 23 saves (last goal was an empty netter).
Tappara lost two important players, Barkov and Connolly. Don't know how long they'll be out.
Granlund was on the ice during HIFK's goal, in which the Tappara goalie went far beyond Vesa Toskala: http://www.ruutu.fi/ohjelmat/sm-liig...koinen-2732013
Ortio's playoff stats: 3-0-5, 92.16 sv, 2.49 gaa.
Granlund's playoff stats: 5 games, 1+2=3 points. 20.40 of ice time in the final game.

Nemo has had an amazing comeback season. He's probably playing his best hockey since leaving Calgary. Not only playing with Barkov but also training with him since the summer has really given him a new life. He's been acting as Barkov's personal trainer, along with another young player, and got into training again last summer because he was working with the youngsters.
|
Now I want Barkov even more.
Step aside MacKinnon, we're bringing in Sacha.

Tyler Wotherspoon and the Portland Winterhawks are absolutely murdering the Silvertips 8-2 right now.
Wotherspoon has two goals and an assist at the end of the second.
EDIT - Now Wotherspoon has 2+2. Great night for him. The score's now 11-4 for Portland.

You know a guy is playing well when he allows only one goal and stops 24 of 25 shots and as a result his GAA goes up and save percentage goes down.

This is kind of interesting and refreshing to read. When the Flames drafted Brossoit, one of the biggest knocks against him was his Luongo-esque mental instability during games. Seems like his mental game is developing nicely.
Quote:
Laurent Brossoit looks like a different player. He seems more cerebral, more confident, and in his post-game interview with Rob Faulds on Friday, said he has been working on letting the game come to him. If he’s that locked in for the entire playoffs, the Oil Kings are a good bet to repeat.

Earlier today, Boston College announced that Bill Arnold will be wearing an "A" for the team next year.
I guess that means he won't be turning pro early.

Some of the NCAA guys I have on twitter think the Award will go to LeBlanc because the voters generally show a bias for older players.
