Bagley is a smart pickup for the Pistons. Might just need a change of scenery.

Haven’t followed Young’s career, but what’s the thought on this? I didn’t expect much and it certainly doesn’t sound that big of a deal either way.

I'm suprised that they ended up going with an aging vet who's not signed beyond next year. He's a really good player and definitely fits the need - would be the best bench player on the roster - but it's way more win-now than I expected. But if the plan is to win now, conventional wisdom would be that they still need to find a guard to come off the bench today.

Harden pretty much cements his legacy as the softest player in league history. Credit to Morey though, he had to add a lot but still got decent value for Simmons in the end.

yeah I'm not a fan of Harden at all, but not having to give up Maxey or even a guy like Thybulle for him is outstanding work by Morey. In the end, his patience paid off because he found a dance partner that needed to move on from a superstar too.
Maxey
Harden
Thybulle/Green
Harris
Embiid
really solid starting 5.

At this point I don't know that the Nets avoid the play-in. They're dependent on a guy who's sat out the whole year, and has a really weird skillset, to come in and mesh quickly on a roster that has little continuity or structure. I definitely don't think Nash is the coach to make it work.
Great move for Philly though. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see them finish first.

Just heard if Harden signs the max extension this offseason he is eligible for with the 76ers, he will max 64 million in his age 38 season....
And people think Westbrook sitting on the bench for 45 million the next two years is bad.

Harden will opt into his player option as part of the deal, so they won't have to make that call until next year. Knowing Harden, he'll want out by then anyway.

At least Harden can still make jump shots. Westbrook barely could in his prime, and now he's approaching Ben Simmons levels of bad. But yeah the Sixers will be in cap hell very quick so their window is pretty much this year and maybe next.

Porzingis and a 2nd to Washington, Dinwiddie and Bertans to Dallas is the full deal.
Speaks volumes to KPs value in the league when they try to find a trade partner all day, and the best they can get is two awful contracts ... and they have to throw in a 2nd to make it happen. Big yikes.

^ Seriously, makes me wonder what the Raps were talking about giving up instead, in addition to presumably Dragic.
The San Antonio deal for Young is... fine. It's okay. It's currently the 19th overall for 31st overall and Young, basically. Young's numbers this year suck but he was barely playing, whereas when he was playing more last year his numbers were decent. And given how the Raps have been playing lately, that pick might end up in the mid-20s somewhere.
I guess they're done though? If so that's a bit disappointing, I was hoping they'd at least get a couple additional, reliable guys for the bench.

The thing we gotta remember is trade deadline is only part of the roster changes, the buyout window will open up some possibilities for bench upgrades.

playoffs in the East are going to be sick. Heat, Bucks, Sixers, Bulls, Cavs, Raptors, Celtics and Nets all look good ... really unpredictable.

So it's kinda fascinating that the Raptors didn't make a move for a guard. (Still could grab one on the buyout market, but no guarantees). I guess they really like the all-big lineups they've experimented with, and Young really fits into that. They run point-Siakam and point-Barnes minutes a little more with Young on there, as he can space and move the ball well.
Will it be enough to hold their position in the standings and avoid the play-in? Maybe?
