The expectation with all of the cuts is that this is about correcting WWE's financial statements. Braun for example had a monster deal. Black had a fairly large deal as well.

The rumor is that this is a precurser to a WWE sale.

Not rumour. Speculation.

WWE has direly needed to pare down its roster and while this isn't the ideal way to have to have it happen, it's likely for the best in the long run.

Trying to hoard all the talent while using none of them is WCW-level stupidity. Cut down to the people you can use or see a future in and let everything else go.

As much as I don't like to see cuts, WWE's roster is too bloated and this is probably a good thing from a fan perspective (more focus on characters and less wasting away in catering). Most of these folks will land on their feet, particularly Black and Riott.

Pretty much.

Conspiracy theory here. Vince either owns or is working with AEW.

- Let some people out of their contract and have them start up a new federation, lure some guys that mainstream fans have not seen.

- Make an older established guy the champ while they start

- Cut some talented but lesser used guys and have them be upper card in the new federation

- Then a steady trickle of releases

- The new federation builds organically, the standard federation appears to be fumbling talent and in a bit of trouble

- Eventually you have two strong, talented rosters and we have Monday Night Wars 2.0

Well Nick Khan is with WWE and Tony Khan is with AEW. They're not related at all, but lets just pretend they are and it's an inside job the entire time

AEW fans are more in the Smarks territory and they appreciate a good heel promo. Britt just needs a few more “stuff your whataburger faces!” Moments with a live crowd, and she’ll be set

I disagree, Jungle boy is not ready to getting his dues with so many others deserving the spotlight. But the casino battle royale seems anti climatic. We all know Jungle Boy is set up as Babyface fodder for dynamite 2 weeks from now

Dont think anyone is expecting jungle boy to beat kenny or win the title anytime soon

But hes so over with the fans, and he gets a nice 2 week feud with kenny which gives him more reps and an even bigger spotlight , to help him in his future

I'd rather they do that then drag out an extra month of kennys field heading into all out, which is 3 months away.

Also for jungle boy, maybe this thing with Kenny involes the elite and leads to jurassix Express challenging the bucks for the tag titles

The one thing aew has done really well the last 6 months is long term booking, they know where they want to be by all out already I bet, sure something can hit, especially with fans back full time soon, and plans change, but the long term planning is important, better than no planning and hoping something sparks

You don't think Jungle Boy is massively over and a future pillar of the company?

Weird take.

I like Jungle Boy, but his ceiling is TNT champion if he doesn't improve his promo skills.

That said, Darby seemed to really find his promo/charisma game while he was TNT champ, so maybe stick the belt on Jungle Boy in a few months and see how he does.

Andrade! That's a huge get for AEW.

This is an excellent pickup. They need a big time Latino star, El Idolo can be that for them. A feud with Omega would make me salivate, although I'd like to see him have some crazy good build-up matches first. I'm hoping he gets his chops in against one of Fenix or Penta, and gets a fight with Hangman. He is just too good in the ring to not have on your roster.

He's such a natural heel too. Feuds with OC, Jungle Boy, and Darby will be great, too.

I wish he would call himself La Sombra, but I agree with you. Excellent heel that doesn't need to say too much to be effective.

People just love to sing along to his theme, he’s not as over as some of you think.

If he’s really a future pillar, Develop him properly, have him go through The mid card and run The TNT title route. why bury him here as fodder for Omega on another episode of dynamite? Having him lose here for the AEW title will lose the mystique of a fresh title run in the future

They’ve been hit and miss with long term booking. Pinnacle vs Inner Circle has been great, Lance Archer vs Miro and Cody vs Brodie felt rushed

If anything, they’ve diminished their casino battle royale matches when they’ve allowed a mid card guy with zero momentum to win and feature their match on just another dynamite ep. The fact that we all know that jungle boy won’t win makes us view future casino battle royale matches as pointless cause winning it it won’t lead to anything big. Can you imagine if the winner of the Royal Rumble lead to a match on a typical episode of Raw?
Jungle boy isn’t as over as you think. Did you watch him walk out The ramp a few minutes ago? People sang along to his Tarzan Boy Theme but cheers were luke warm. He might be good in the ring but he’s got nothing for mic skills

I actually agree with Scorch for once. Jungle Boy reminds me of someone like Tyson Kidd. Insanely talented, but zero skills on the mic.

He's young, and I think he'll get there, but you can't push him until he does.

That would be almost as terrible as, say, naming a Wrestlemania Battle Royal after Andre the Giant, attempting to make it a big deal, and then doing nothing with anyone who won it.

The Casino Battle Royal is more Andre the Giant Memorial than Royal Rumble. And let's not pretend that the Royal Rumble hasn't been diminished by the roughly 17 PPVs between Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. But yeah, the Casino Battle Royal could be improved.

Anyway, came here to share this. TK needs to get on this.

The Andre the giant battle royale never had a world title shot incentive for the winner, where as the Royal Rumble and the Casino Battle Royale has.

AEW made a big deal over title shot incentive and even made promos of contenders explaining what they’d do to win.

Going forward, When they have another Battle Royale with a title shot for the winner, fans are just going to shrug their shoulders and Realize nothing is really on the line as they’ll just piss it away on a mid card talent who is just jobbing for the champ
