I don't typically like rock music, but I really do like this song. First time I've even heard of The National.

I don't see the Stone Roses similarities though.

also, I Wanna Be Adored is the best Stone Roses song.

I have never really thought too much about The National. They neither intrigue or offend me.... I just find them boring and contrived, but at least they are not Muse.

Check out more National songs on youtube, and listen to the album Boxer...it's one of my fave albums ever.

Songs by them I recommend:

'Lucky you'
'Daughters of the SoHo riots'
'Fake empire'
'Mistaken for strangers'
'Slow show'
'Start a war'
'Racing like a pro'
'Sorrow'
'Bloodbuzz Ohio'
'This is the last time'
'Forever after days'

Trust me...if you burn these songs on to a disc it'll be one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful albums you've ever listened to. Also include 'apartment story' of course.

At Riot Fest in Denver, the National frontman had a big hissy fit because of the rain. TV On The Radio made the best of it.

Life is too short to listen to dreary music.

Unlike the National, TV on the Radio makes good music.

The Stone Roses were not a small band, I think they're pretty well known.

And yes, I pick up your sarcasm.

No, I get it, I just didn't want to miss a chance to express my disdain for comedy bands and ironic covers.
