I haven't seen anything about bombs dropping, I know that the Israeli cabinet is still deciding what to do.

I doubt that Israel is going to just bomb the crap out of them. This sounds like a job for Israeli Special Forces to go in an pop the senior leadership of the Hamas Military Wing who basically are to be held responsible.

It looks like Abbas has called an emergency meeting of the West Bank government, this could be the end of the tenuous partnership between Hamas and the West Bank Authority.

Israel is also discussing bringing in a death penalty for terrorist related crimes.

The other scandal is that the poor kids called the cops after they were kidnapped and were ignored for several hours.

It sounds like Israel knows who's responsible for the kidnapping. If Hamas protects them then all hell will break lose.

I've said it before Hamas is a suicide cult, they like it when they get their own people killed because it goes towards their political aims. They also constantly break any cease fire agreements once they've had a chance to rearm. They're a government of thugs and murderers who have little value for the lives around them.

The smart move would be for Israel to reach out to Abbas and the West Bank and isolate the Hamas government. Send in Special Forces Groups to start killing the more militant leaders of that party, and catch and hang the kidnappers.

Well Canada isn't nearly as pro-Israel as the States is, often the whole tone of the conversation depends a lot on which government is in power. But yeah, probably a lot more pro-Israel than Palestinian overall.

Still though, there is a lot more conversation and middle ground here than the States.

True, if you were to focus on antiSemitic nonesense. If you were to actually avoid the revisionist history, Israel is a pretty normal and free country, besides being surrounded by some pretty vile regimes.

Though I most definitely do not agree with Tinordi's statement, it is not crazy, nor is it even close to anti-Semitic. (I have never read Barry Fisher, so no comment there).

Many on the left try to make the case that Israel is a "pariah state" on par with North Korea or Iran. They will quote Amnesty's or Human Rights Watch's versions of bad things Israel has done, but I find it is always in a vacum never mentioning other countries issues or considering the full picture.

Tossing out the "you're ignorant or an anti-Semite" accusation, especially on such a standard left leaning comment, makes you appear ignorant (unable to make an argument) or just really thin-skinned.

Let's save it for the real crazy.

Killing Arab civilians and demolishing random homes to deal with the murder of 3 Israelis (without any investigation by the way) is what makes Israel a pariah state, not antisemitism.

As far as I'm concerned, this is a police matter in most countries, not an excuse to carpet bomb neighborhoods.

There is absolutely no use in arguing a statement posted by Tinordi. Read it again:

It is not based in any fact. What is there to argue: that it isn't a pariah state or that there is no rational evidence of it? Which is why it's bizarre.

Any political commentary must be balanced by showing some appreciation and understanding of both sides to the conflict. The reality of Israel's constant struggle to survive as an independent state is incredibly complicated. Anyone minimizing this struggle to a simple aggressor-country mentality is either politically ignorant (purposely ignoring all of the issues surrounding this reality) or driven by personal hatred of the Jewish people. There is no other way to interpret these posts.
