Flames recall Brandon Davidson. Send Kylington to Stockton

The Calgary Flames will announce later this morning they have sent Oliver Kylington down to Stockton and have recalled Taber, Ab. native Brandon Davidson.

This is probably just so that Kylington continues getting some good ice time. He has looked good and has continued to develop so far this season.

I suspect this means Brodie/Stone will be the third pairing for the next little while, and Andersson bumps into the top four. You'd rather have Davidson in the press box instead of Kylington.

Kylington has been mostly good. However, Davidson has been really good in Stockton so far, so I get why they thought it might be good to try a hot hand and upgrade the 3rd pairing. Davidson has 10 points in 10 games, and the Flames need some offense from the back end. As crafty as Kylington is, he hasn't put up many points yet. Just one assist in 14 games. If he's not creating offense he isn't a major upgrade on a lot of defensemen.
I think this is about rewarding Davidson and simultaneously getting Oliver some reps as a top d-man to get his offensive game going again.

Yeah likely just mean they are giving Stone a run in the lineup and Andersson a run in the top 4.
Lets Kylington keep playing with Davidson in the pressbox.

Stone hasn't really been very good when he's played. I fail to see how he's an upgrade on Kylington but I suppose getting a lot of ice time with the Heat is never a bad thing.

Davidson has been on fire this year in Stockton but can press box if he needs to. Kylington can use some big minutes to continue refining his game. He'll be back soon I'm sure.

Worth noting: Davidson is PPG in Stockton. More goals and assists than Dube.
