Denver isn’t Calgary. It’s Edmonton. Speaking from someone who has been there a dozen times. Don’t let the mountains fool you.

This is the type of marketing that will be needed to get Makar back in Calgary.

The only real downside is that we didnt get anything for him.

I think addition by subtraction is an indirect strength of Conroy’s philosophy

Meaning maybe he doesn’t get what he wants but gets what the team needs

I have zero inside knowledge but Kylington's agent is a pretty experienced guy with a client that missed 1.5 of the 2 year contract he previously signed.

Can't imagine convincing my client to risk security for a potential boost in that situation.

I'd imagine it was Kylington.

Sometimes people need a change of scenery, even if the place itself is not the problem.

I can totally see how after dealing with whatever he's been going through, going back to Calgary just was not going to help him move on. Even if that meant he went to go play out his years in Sweden or something, I'm sure he was fine with that to be honest.

Yeah, is he on the NHL team or...? I really havent checked.

You see...that is my dream! To be a bit-part piece of a Championship team! Not having to work and play and suffer, but get the pay and the ring!

Thats...true artistry!

I’m guessing that Kylington wanted the security of a longer deal than one year. No team offered that.

Apparently with Colorado's injuries piling up, Kylington will play tonight at forward.

That’s an option that I thought the Flames should have tried back in the early days

Agreed. I remember a few of us saying they should try him at forward. Hope it works.

You called it.

@FriedgeHNIC
Jared Bednar, on Altitude Radio, said today that Miles Wood is added to the injury list and won't play vs TB.

Kaapo Kahkonen gets his first start & Oliver Kylington will play forward

When was the last time we saw a defenceman moved to forward in an emergency situation like this? Hope he makes the most of it. Would be a fun story.

Mark Streit occasionally moved up. I think Ville Leino also did. Back in like 97 I think it was the Devils moved Scott Niedermayer up to forward in an elimination playoff game against Ottawa.

Leino was only a forward.

Back in the day the Flames would move Roger Johansson up.
I think Steve Montador (RIP) also took some shifts at forward
