Forgot to turn off my sprinkler before we went out for 5 hours tonight.

i remember doing that once at my old house. i left the sprinkler on for, and im not exaggerating, 7 or 8 hours. i woke up at 4 or 5 am and it was like i left the oven on or something. pure panic.
the lawn was beyond drenched.

It’ll be fun when the utility bill comes in and the wife blames my 5 hour water for the entirety of our water bill.

Years ago my neighbour went away for several days and left his hose going (not a sprinkler) before I went over and turned it off. It flooded a large part of my yard. I’d have hated to pay that water bill.

The saying "Tell me you never done (blank) without telling me you never done (blank).". So obnoxious, overdone and not funny.

Tell me you've got bad takes without telling me you've got bad takes
In all honesty though, I still think its a pretty good saying. Mostly because I find it easy to take a statement and use it against the city of Edmonton. "Tell me you're from Edmonton without telling me you're from Edmonton"

How did we let "Craft Soda" become a thing? A 4 pack of Grizzly Paw Soda was $8.99 at Co-op. Are you kidding? Dr. Skipper for life.

When did bear spray get so expensive? I'm going flyfishing next month and picked up some items from Cabelas. Bear spray is $54!
I can't remember if I ever bought it before or was given some, but mine is expired.

$54? Ya, that's pricey. No need for that when you can make your own.
Take a small spray bottle, mix it with water and Franks Hot Sauce 30/70.
When the bear attacks, spray it in your buddies eyes, guarantee you'll be running faster than him and you get out alive.

About 3-4 years ago, I seem to recall that Bear Spray was in the mid $40s range. When was the last time you grabbed some?
Also, how expired is it and is it likely to still spray? To address the likelihood the spray was still OK even due to expiry date, the unlikelihood of using bear spray and saving money from not buying too many of them... some of my friends would basically bring 2/3 cans unexpired and the spare reserve spray as the recently expired one.
I believe they started doing this when they ran into a situation where they couldn't find bear spray to buy and just continued using this method when they started trying to save money and got sick and tired of their main spray and reserve always expiring.

We had a really old, like 2012, can and we sprayed it off last summer. The wind shifted a bit and I got the smallest amount in my face. It still worked. I'd hate to feel the full effects of a new can because that tiny amount and I was cryimg, snotty and coughing like crazy.

Whenever I hear about Bear Spray I'm always reminded about that news article about an Amazon robot rolling over a can of it in one of their warehouses.

It's only $50 at MEC.
Been like that since 2020 at least.

Sorry, some of us gave up booze but years of drinking craft beer preconditioned us to pay an unreasonable amount for liquids in fancy cans. If it makes you feel any better alcohol free beer is really no easier on the wallet.

Is it the chemicals in the spray that go bad or the propellant that goes bad? I always thought it was the propellant that expires.

Yah I think they won’t guarantee that it will actually shoot after the expiry date.

I don't know the answer. I thought they say the potency diminishes as well. I think it's likely a case of a little expired is fine but I wouldn't trust a really old one so that's why I practiced with it. I'm sure there's a liability issue for the manufacturer as well.
Edit. Yeah, it's the propellant that breaks down.
