This was my experience as well in my days of serving and bartending, the manager would always comp the tables bill so the server was never out any money other than the potential tip they may have gotten

Is there an excessive amount of pollen this year? Are the conditions perfect for pollen? It seems like there is much more pollen in my yard than in previous years. My deck, bar counter and BBQ have a constant thick layer of pollen despite hosing it off every other day or so.

Maybe there’s more. It certainly seems like it. I blame the lack of rain that would usually wash it away.

My wife and mail.

My wife will not open her mail. She will look at it every day after I get it from the mailbox, let it stack to the sky, but she will not open it. If there was a a million dollar check in the envelope, she would let it sit on the counter until the check expired because opening a letter is a herculean task.

You should've thought of that before you married a mail hoarder.

Car rentals are SO stupidly priced right now.

It really seems to depend on where. Some places you can't even get a car.

Other cities, no problem and not that expensive.

I was billed 5 grand (2 covered by insurance) for a 7 week rental late in 2021 for what was supposed to be a week of repairs but got delayed multiple times cause of the BC flood supply delays.

Took a "small" recommended daily fee to protect me from being at fault for anything (which for a week you don't even think about). Added up to a crazy amount by the time the shop was done with repairs.

Pretty much never want to rent again.

Heh, good luck. I go there on Thursday. Entire trip was supposed to be a budget thing, turns out we could spend a couple weeks at a nice place in Mexico for a long weekend in Vancouver. Yahoo for endless rain, druggies and congestion.

I used a leaf blower and it was basically a cloud of yellow. So gross. I've never seen it that bad before. I'm whipping out my cloth masks to deal with it.

My buddy was supposed to rent a van for a two week trip this summer. $330 to $500 per day so like $3-5K. Some of those rates were for 10 year old vans on Turo. I told him to just buy a 5 ish year old van for the trip and Turo rent it out for those insane rates if he hates the van. He's so glad he bought now for $26K ish because he saves the rental, keeps the van and to buy an equivalent of the deal he got right now is basically $30-35K. Insane.

Are you tied to anything you booked? If I had a weekend in Vancouver pushed up to two week Mexico vacation prices I would not even think about going through with it. Not even close.

ha! My wife is the same way. But if a flyer comes, she's all over that bad boy.

Man, can you talk to my spouse? Not one part of my actually has any desire to go spend a week in the misery capital of Canada.

Lazy neighbors and their fifth wheel.
They leave it parked on the street all week.

My neighbor has had a car on his driveway for about 10 months, tarp over it, jacked up. Engine hoist sitting there, 5 gallon buckets, random parts. His garage is too full of tools, furniture and whatever else was such a good deal he had to have it. He also has a go kart thing sitting between our houses.

But the thing that bugs me most about him is he'll say "hey 8sPOT! You want a drill press? I have 2 of em" and I'll say well I dont think I need a drill press but yeah maybe if you're just getting rid of it, then he goes "$150 its yours".

That bothers me more than it probably should. I've learned now to just say no when he offers something, he's one of those guys, always selling.
