Constitutional crisis? XOs?
Come on, man.
Canadian PMs have way more power than POTUSs.
The mind boggles.

Or you could just say Trump won instead of having a hissy fit.

What happens to DJT now? It jumped up with his win as expected, but it is falling now that everyone realizes that it is still a worthless company.

If Americans have trouble knowing what is true now, they will be even more lost - and more easily persuaded to accept more horrible things - very soon.
This is basically a cancer than has just shown itself nonresponsive to treatment, but next year is when it will really start to metastasis. Democracy, decency, truth, rule of law, and relationships with allies are allowing to be casualties. And it will happen fast.
Canadians should start thinking about what they can do to protect their and this country's interests from this influence now. We are basically going to be a lonely Nordic country sandwiched between two Russias as I see it.

Right, but not sure we need to add a whole lot to the discourse that results in a person in Canada living on AISH to fear for their life?

Agreed this is a huge one that Dems never seem to face the reality about.
Maybe the country is sending you a message that they actually, in fact, don’t just want unchecked mass immigration…… like this is a real issue for people living on the southern border. You can’t just ignore it.

MAybe someone can guide me to a spot that does a demographics break down of the vote, in terms of gender, race and age, and does it by election by election.
It's be interesting to map the change.
I would assume that the Democrats will be mangling the Data over the next few months. They need to find out why they weren't appealing.

Today is a depressing day. The bloated maggot who has conned millions of Americans into believing he's actually good for the economy and their pocket books, and is 'one of them', is back in power. A man who is in serious mental decline and will be reprehensibly corrupt.
WTF America.

I think it mainly just comes down to inflation and the instilled belief that Trump will be better for the economy. Young men were polled overwhelmingly to support the Republicans.
Call them all the names in the world but they’re also just people that want to be able to have a job and own a house one day.

Only goes back two elections but the "swing" vote is basically white people in any election, as us coloured folk basically vote D.

Yeah the most surprising to me was how young college voters were leaning trump. Kind of makes sense once you realise that the generation has dealt with a lot: years of isolation at home during covid, having nothing better to do but consume misinformation on twitch / twitter..
Sigh

This does seem to be one time the demographics aren't that interesting. Like yeah young men voting Trump and latino men voting Trump is worth thinking about but overall it's just... people don't like inflation and they want a simple scapegoat for their problems, so they voted against the incumbent and for someone who gave them people to blame.
So, obviously that sucks for a lot of people, but as usual I'm more worried about me. Canadian recession and 65 cent loonie when?

It's always about the economy.
Always.
Every single ####ing election.
It's why Trump lost. It's why Harris lost.

Very disappointed by the results. I've decided I'm going to be taking a break from most American media for a bit. Time to go touch grass and focus on the stuff I can actually control.

I think part of the problem for the Democrats is that they offer complicated solutions to complicated problems
Republicans offer simple solutions to simple (and often imaginary) problems
"Join our coalition as we march towards a slightly better future in a reasonable timeframe" vs. "Victory! Together! Tomorrow!"
