I think it's a couple of things. Kerins spent some time in the ECHL and was a healthy scratch in the playoffs last year.
He's also getting an opportunity he wouldn't have gotten if Schwindt hadn't been claimed. It will be interesting to follow his stat line as the season progresses.

I just hope Kerins keeps working hard . I hope he doesnr read CP either . Id be deflated a bit if i were him reading certain things .
Sure he cant keep it up but if he can play a 200 ft game and i think hes got the jam to do so he becomes another Coleman type player ?

Stromgren is second star, with 2a. He has 6 points in his last 4 games, after posting 1 point in his previous 8. 12gp/2g/5a/7pts,+2, 2 PIM.
Solovyov was 3rd star, with a goal. 8gp/3g/2a/5pts,+7, 4 PIM, tied for 21st in scoring by D, and 8th overall in plus/minus.
Also getting points: Poirier (1a), Bishop (1a), Pelletier (1g), Silye (1a), Tinordi (1a), Duehr (1g), Kuznetsov (1a), Klapka (1g).
Kerins! and Duehr are tied for 4th in AHL scoring with 12 points in 12 games apiece, with Kerins! leading the league in plus/minus, at +11. Pelletier is tied for 8th in scoring, with 11 points in 12 games.
