I had a high school math test the day after the Cup win. Test results were what you would expect. Funny that I still remember that part of the experience.

Please tell me that you made a typo. Wasn't 1989 only 13 years ago? Please? I'm not this old. Really, I'm not!

I was in Junior High in Lethbridge and the overwhelming majority of kids in my school were greasy oiler fans. I had made Stanley Cup bets with a bunch of them that should have netted me over a hundred bucks and one of those Calgary Flames cakes that Safeway used to make, but almost all of them welshed. No surprise I guess. 33 years later and the oilers still have the douchiest fans in the league.

Watched from Lethbridge also. Home for the summer from university. Worked the midnight shift at Catelli a few hours after the game (wearing my jersey proudly). Yes, it was definitely grease-town but I was lucky to have a coworker that loved the Flames also. Was a good night shift with more than a few beer consumed. Sorry about the quality of that evening’s spaghetti batch!!

Another one who lived it in Lethbridge. Made a jersey bet with my high school guidance counsellor, so I didn't get to wear my colours the next day. But watching him wear it all day was worth it.

I was 417 days old...so I have no idea what I was doing. Probably sleeping when the Flames won.

I too was from Lethbridge and in Jr. High at the time. I was very mad at my mom. She was very rigid about doing spring and fall cleaning and making sure every room in the house gets cleaned. She chose that night to do my room.... like, seriously? We fought a lot because I was too distracted to work.

I turned 33 yesterday so I guess you could say I was born to be a Flames fan.

Was 19 as well, watched almost to the end of the game then hopped in my truck to get to work for an 11:00 pm shift. Missed all the celebrations, kinda chapped me to be sure.

And now that it's after midnight and the calendar has flipped another day, here's the rest of it.

Watched the game at the Pointe and Feather, and when the Cup was awarded the owner put a bottle of champagne on every table and handed out cigars to everybody.

Crazy how much later the season runs today.

I remember going to that parade as a high schooler. I was at the Y downtown and ran over as soon as i was done coaching a kids floor hockey team IIRC.

Looking athe box score, surprised to see Flames with only 19 shots. Looks like the Habs kind of took it to us in the first period, I sure don't remember it that way.

I remembered watching the first couple of series at the UofA Hub Mall back then. The first series was amazing beating the Canucks in game 7. Then a sweep of LA Kings. Didn't remember much of the conference finals with the Hawks but came back to Calgary to watch the Stanley Cup Finals to see the Flames beat the Habs in their own building. Now, that team had the killer instinct after a hard fought battle in the first round!
