I think Kylington should win. It's a no brainer for me. The only other one that could come close is Couturier for the off-ice stuff he's also had to go through.

But Kylington missed nearly a year and a half, and it was doubtful he would ever play again. The fact that it was for mental health reasons makes this a great reason to stop and focus on it for this particular award. It's an area that still carries a lot of stigmatization, especially amongst athletes, and it's often overlooked entirely.

I don't know all the other stories from all the other nominees, but I hope Kylington gets this one. So great to see him battle back and join the squad this season, he deserves to be recognized.

I see Crosby's name on there though, expecting to see some legacy votes go his way too. Eastern voters can't help themselves.

Not to mention having to live on a planet with mere mortals.

Would be fantastic to see someone recognized for overcoming mental health challenges.

I don't know all the other players' stories, but I'd think Kylington will be at least one of the final 3.

The greatest player of all time will, by definition, always have to play against and with lesser players. Let's just give him the extra trophy automatically every year, and then after retires too, to compensate him for the hardship of having such massive talent and being unable to win a cup due to the lack of talent around him.

Obvious choice. Strong chance of winning I'd say.

it's too bad that Sean Monahan got traded. He'd be an obvious candidate if he was on one team

Great list of Candidates that we may not understand how or why they got there but cannot discount how or why they're there.

Some of those jump off the page that are some of my faves in the league for a long time and echo the sentiment of Sean needing to be on that list because I'd take #23 back on this team in a heartbeat.

Shilly definitely needs to be on that list and deserves a W on all fronts.

As someone who hasn't personally defeated my personal demons and hurdled over my defects , shortcomings, depression and anxiety I'm glad to see him back on the ice making a difference after doing some work on himself to become the best version of himself all to our benefit .

Great example he's set for other players here who obviously need to confront thier issues .

I think since big Ern was here we've seen more guys come out the other side all for the better and Brian never shied away from anyone afterwards and what he was given he paid forward.

Happy our organization helps those who want it.....wanting it and needing it and doing it are courageous steps ....Proud of Him for sure.

It seems obvious Oliver should win. Who knows. I am still ticked off Robyn Regehr surviving his auto accident lost to a recovering alcoholic. The way the media has sh$$ on the Flames this season, I won't be surprised if OK loses. But he will always have my support.
