I thought this was pretty funny in the middle of his in class session:
Mark Jankowski @Janko61 Somebody PLEASE get me outta here
Every other time it seemed like he was just having fun, but this tweet was pure frustration.

This is in no way a knock on the kid as a hockey player, but I'm not sure he's the brightest candle on the cake... or he's just 17.
I'm not sure yet.

Well he did have a calculus exam the day before the draft, I'd say he's not too dumb.

Yeah, exactly. I regret bringing up his tweets. The kid seems very bright and incredibly well spoken. But he's 17,so he says things a teenager would say.

He went to school in Quebec. Although, I doubt calculus is required there either.

If calculus is not a required class to take in high school, does that not indicate that the kid has some ambition and some smarts?
Not that calculus is exactly difficult or an indicator of higher intelligence, but slackers don't usually take it.

Hopefully this isn't a fata because this interview is a couple of days old.
Jankowski AM900 CHML Hamilton INterview
- He's been working out all summer. Weighs about 180 pounds now (his draft profile has him at 170). He works with the same trainer that John Tavares and Ryan Strome work with.
- Talks about the discipline required to be a top athlete. His friends may be going out, but he's committed to his training and his career, so he's not the type that goes out to party on weekends and in the summer.
- Compares his style to Evgeni Malkin. Sees himself as a big, skilled forward.
- Felt really good about the prospect development camp in July (people that saw him play certainly had good things to say). After playing against some older players at camp, he decided he was ready to make the jump to the NCAA.
Just seemed really confident in his own abilities. Didn't shy away from comparing his style to Evgeni Malkin, talked about how much he wanted to weigh when he plays in the NHL. At the same time, he didn't come across as arrogant or cocky. Just seems like a nice kid.
Anyways, not a whole lot of new stuff in that interview, but though I'd post anyway.

He talks about his confidence at least ten times and how it improved after rookie camp. I mentioned earlier that it was strange that a first round pick would want to make a sideways move to the USHL instead of going directly to US college, so I'm glad he changed his plan. He's doing a lot of growing, and not just physically. I'm also glad to hear he's dedicated and has his head on straight for a 17 year old..
