Just with the talk going on about the odds on who wins, someone may not want to see a possible spoiler for the ending

Imagine how poor old Hodor feels, having sacrificed his entire adult life by holding the door so that Bran could.. mope.

Well I'm completely spoiled on it now, especially with Daeny's going rougue and killing off Cersei and Jamie.
So what if they go in a different direction.
With Kings Landing destroyed and probably most everyone that's important dead. What if there's no more Iron Throne. What if it ends with no ruler over the 7 Kingdoms and we get a ruling council of Lords instead?
Jon won't want to be king, nobody will accept another Lannister at this point.
What if we end with no king or Queen ruling all the Kingdoms?

We all know he has visions.
Still not sure what they are for or why he has them.
They haven't done a good job in developing the storyline for arguably the most important character in the show. At least that is what I believed up till now.
Now I'm starting to believe he isn't that important.

Don't like doing predictions but this is my guess. King's Landing is done, whoever wants the Throne now can have it, they have to rebuild the thing. Jon is more than happy to sulk back to Winterfell where the northerners are just as rapey as everyone else.
As an aside CaptainCrunch, what's with the double spacing? I've enjoyed your recaps but the double clicks makes them a little odd to read!

Bran still hasn't controlled a dragon. That was hinted to be a theoretical possibility in the earlier seasons, and back then many predicted would happen at some point.
I mean, when you have a guy that can take control of animals of undefined size, and a dragon...

This is a really good short video(4 min) of several scenes that foreshadowed Danny's turn. Her solution to most things has been to burn the problem away. I had totally forgotten about that dream sequence in the ruined Red Keep at the end, too. Worth a watch for those who think it was out of character for her.

Nothing was in her way when she burned the city.

She wouldn't be much of a MAD Queen if she followed logical arguments now, would she?

One thing that has been pretty clear from the start of the season and probably pretty accurate.
The royal blood lines really don't care about the innocents or the peasant camp. They are a source of labour and looked upon with some disgust by the elite.
Even Daeny's with all her speeches about freedom and choices, really didn't even see them as anything more then an obstacle. In Season 6 when she talked about retaliation against the Masters, her strategy was to destroy their cities.
We know that Cersei hated the subjects who served her. Even the Kings Guard looked at their recruits from the peasant stock with some disdain.
Burning a city of innocents I don't think would make them blink an eyebrow, anymore then a general sending a peasant army to fight and get slaughtered.

So this is the thing to me.
How much of her freeing slaves, dothraki, unsullied etc was about her actually caring about people, and how much was also about needing followers and an Army to be able to get and hold the Iron Throne?
IMO she only did that at the time because those actions still supported her overall goal of taking the Iron Throne.
At this point though letting Cersei and rest of Kings Landing stand just meant that there were people left that didn't like her and were a threat to the throne.
In the end Dany's sole motivation since season one was taking her rightful place on the throne by any means necessary - and IMO this was just what she thought needed to be done to achieve that and send a message at that point in time.
