It was an ok episode but definitely not the best of the season. The conflict in the main plot was pretty weak since we've already seen Rick take down the Galactic Federation and the Council of Ricks at the same time the US government wasn't much of a foe. I was also hoping the whole Beth clone thing would go unaddressed for a while so we could forget about it and have a big payoff later, like Evil Morty.
It was a very disappointing finale, probably because we were expecting some Phoenix person or evil Morty appearances, and we didn't get any of that. Episode would have been a better finale.

It would have been a huge change of pace to deal with the Evil Morty storyline so soon. The original appearance of Evil Morty was in season 1, and they didn't touch on it at all in season 2.
Rick: Son, you have a right to refuse that order, and I guarantee you're gonna die when you touch me. And there's no afterlife, everything just goes black. Don't do it. (flop)
Morty: Wha, Rick!
President: Ok, what was that?
Rick: Death.
President: What kind?
Rick: Instant.
President: There was no sound, he just died!
Rick: Yeah, terrifying. It's a terrifying thing to watch happen it's called a deterrent.
General 2: You couldn't just knock him out?
Rick: How is "knocking out" a deterrent? Everyone wants to be knocked out, nobody wants to be dead.
One of my favorite exchanges in the series, right next to the Psychiatrist/Rick scene in Pickle Rick.

For all the talk about this being an underwhelming finale, i thought the banter was top notch.
Yeah, I think it has to do with extremely high expectations from fans. Kind of the problem when you create something like this, good simply stops being good enough for a lot of fans.

I rewound that just to watch it again right away. So good.

Harmon claims the writing process takes a long time and I think many people involved in the show are involved in other projects. And then when they finally are finished writing it takes 6 months to animate a season.

Wow craziness yesterday for people trying to get the Szechuan sauce at McDonalds. Only a few locations had it and apparently in very limited quantities (28 packets at this location in this video)

I actually stopped by one of the participating locations, as it was on the way to Seattle. They only had 20 packs and sold out instantly. No riots in Bellingham. While I was waiting for my food, at least a dozen other people asked for the sauce too.
The packets are going for $3-400 on eBay.. Some people are full dumb.
