Default LF: House-sitter in Mid July

I'm throwing this out there to see if anyone knows a good house-sitter or they are interested in doing it themselves.

PM me.

Instead of paying someone, if you Air BnB it, they pay you!

I stopped hosting AirBnB once permits were required. How convoluted is that process does anyone know?

I assume this permit process is about as painful as any typical city of Calgary permit process. Annoying for a few weeks at worst but should be straight forward as long as you read how the city wants you to approach it.

I have a few friends who came into town and air Bnb'd. It seems like there's plenty of them and the permitting issue just got rid of random people deciding just randomly tossing their place on Air Bnb to help fund a vacation or whatever. The quality of the Air Bnb listings also seemed to be by far higher than the ones I've seen in the past. Probably because most of them are basically full time rentals maintained by super hosts.

Can you provide more details? What would this person be looking after? Pets? Plants? How often would you need them? What area of the city?

Pets and plants.

We live fairly central, near Mount Pleasant.

We are looking for someone to live at our place while we are away. We have an old dog.

have you looked in to ROVR? it's a dog sitting service and they will stay at your house. We find it very reasonable and it's actually cheaper than have the dog stay at a kennel.

It's a paid service of course.

I've used http://assuredhomeandpetcare.com/ in the past and they've been great. Quite a bit of upfront work in terms of putting your details (pet, home, contact, vacation details) into their system but once you've done it once it's easy for ever other vacation.

They do in-home and once or twice daily visits.

Good for checking mail and making sure the house is OK. As well as your pet of course.

Ours have always sent daily photos of the pet when they visited. Great peace of mind.
