Semi-finals are set in Montpellier:
FAA vs Jesper De Jong who upset Tallon Griekspoor
Bweh vs Kovacevic who upset Bublik (defending champion)
Felix with a great chance of making a second ATP final this early in 2025.

Well, it was not easy by any means, but Felix is into the Montpellier final with a 6-4 7-6 win over Jesper De Jong. The second set was certainly up-and-down from FAA, some brilliant play mixed in with some poor play, but he bared down and played a really good tie-break (aside from one double-fault). Felix awaits the winner of Rublev vs. Kovacevic.

Wow, Aleksandar Kovacevic just knocked out Bweh 7-5 6-4 and he will take on Felix on Sunday for the Montpellier title. Really impressive stuff from the young American.

Alexis Galarneau just forced a 3rd and deciding set in the opening Davis Cup match versus Fabian Marozaan.

Marozaan puts Hungary up 1-0 as he takes the match over a very good Alexis Galarneau. Fabian just too strong in set 3.

Gabriel Diallo trying to get Canada level with Hungary and he is off to a good start taking the opening set over Fucsovics.
Edit: Diallo played a bad 2nd set and Fucsovics won it easily 6-2. We need a 3rd set to decide a winner.

Hungary takes a 2-0 lead into day 2 of the Davis Cup tie with Canada in Montreal as Fucsovics comes back from a set down to beat Gabriel Diallo in three sets.

woot!! What a battle, but Felix wins Montpellier 6-2 6-7(7) 7-6(2). Felix had a couple of match points in the 2nd set tie-break, but couldn't cash in. The question is how is Kovacevic not higher ranked, he played incredible today.
That's two titles already in 2025 for FAA and seven overall. Good stuff!!

Vasek and Liam keep Canada alive in the Davis Cup as they win the doubles match over Hungary 7-6 6-4. Diallo vs. Marozsan is up next.

After losing his first 8 finals, Felix has won 7 of his next 9 finals. Even if he had won 50% of his first eight finals, he'd be in double digits already.

Darn, Alexis Galarneau played another very good match today, but Fucsovics just too good as he takes it 7-6 6-4.

Did y'all see Chile get absolutely hosed on a call at Davis Cup over the weekend? Pretty brutal I'd be livid if the same thing happened to Canada

It was a pretty bizarre sequence of events. Bergs broke serve and was going to serve for the match and got a little too excited accidentally running into Garin at the changeover who did his best soccer impersonation totally trying to milk it in hopes of having the win handed to him. If I was a Chilean I would be more upset with Garin for quitting. The doctor cleared him to play and he wouldn't go back in. That's quitting IMO.

I mean, by strict letter of the law, I understand why Chile is upset. That said, if you're checked out by medical staff and cleared to play, you take to the court and finish the match. There have been several occurrences of players bumping into each other at the net by the umpire's chair, maybe not quite as physical as Bergs vs. Garin but I can't recall a default of a player because of it.
