are the Jets in any position to let their defensemen drift off to other teams?

$4.3M last year.

Would be awesome to get a bargain righty in this price range. I have a feeling Hamonic is coming back at $1Mish

Kulikov is a 7th defenceman at best.

He's better than Forbort and Sbisa. Though, admittedly, that isn't saying much.

Hamonic’s gonna be taking quite the haircut if this is the going rate.

Wonder if this sets the market and maybe he becomes a realistic option for that RH depth Treliving is looking for. If Winnipeg truly wants nothing to do with him Calgary certainly makes the most sense in terms of fit.

Hienola will be a good dman.

He was drafted in the first round in 2019 and played 8 games last season, scoring 5pts (1G,4A) before heading back to Finland.

Seems poised to be, much like Valimaki, ready at a very young age.

I'm still not getting the Hamonic thing. Is he actively looking to play this year? If you sign him, aren't you dealing with a very real chance that he decides not to play? Why would any team want to deal with that when there's comparable options out there? I like him well enough, and if there's commitment to play games, then sure I'd offer him 1x1. I just don't know what that looks like though with so much uncertainty and it being a given that players will have an out clause offered to them again.

Weirdly both Forbort and Kulikov had major back injuries that derailed their careers. I don't think kulikov is any different than him other than Forbort has more size. Sibisa is trash.

I'd say that Hamonic would be great as a #6 defenceman for 1M but we need to see what we have in Kylington. If Kylington can be a regular NHLer then he needs to be playing full time, I don' t know if Hamonic would be willing to be the 7th Dman pressbox guy.

Hamonic would be fine as a Stone replacement, but I also don't see the need while also having Petrovic. Injuries I guess

No need for Hamonic unless we trade Kylington, it's time to let him play #6 minutes.

It'd be interesting to know how much the Flames offered Hamonic during the last season when they were supposedly talking about a possible extension.

I imagine if they offered any concrete numbers at that time, he isn't getting offered anything close to that now.

Probably one of many guys kicking himself right about now.

Surely Hamonic is better than Kulikov. I would think he gets more than this, no?
