I don't know if I've mentioned it before but, just to get you all in the groove, the Rovers always run out onto the pitch to this music!
(Believe it or not! This is just one more example, if you needed one, why this team is so great to follow. Bizarreness at it's best!)
The reason for playing it, iirc, is that the show aired on a Friday night exactly when Tranmere came out to play. The tradition just remained to this day.

That. Is Fan-Fataing-Tastic.
Words fail me at the sheer awesome.

Tranmere have today completed the signing of defender Maxime Blanchard. The twenty three year old has been on trial with Rovers since the start of pre-season but finally signed a one year contract today. The French defender spent the 2009-10 season with French side Moulin and is expected to be in Les Parry's 18 man squad for Saturday's season opener against Oldham Athletic. Manager Les Parry said "I'd like to welcome Max to the Club. "Max has done well during his trial here and he can play in a holding midfield role as well as in defence.
"He's a good addition to the squad and I've been very impressed with his attitude since he has been with us."

southhampton down 0-1 this is quite an upset, they are runaway favourites to win the league and to lose the first match of the season at home is really a bad start.
and wtf are they wearing? they look like Peru with that red sash across their shirts

Tranmere striker Ian Thomas-Moore has handed in a transfer request to the League One club. Rovers boss Les Parry says the 33-year-old has a bigger offer from elsewhere. Parry told BBC Radio Merseyside: "He asked for another year on his contract and we had a discussion about it and we asked him to leave it until Christmas. "He tells us he's been made an offer from another club, and I don't know who that club is, with an increase in his salary plus a two-year contract."
He added: "Now because of that, and as we wouldn't give him a second year at the moment, he's put in a transfer request.
"But while he's showing the attitude he's showing, I don't really see a problem. It will end up with some result, whether he stays here or not I don't know. "I won't let him go and I certainly won't let him go for nothing." There has been speculation surrounding Thomas-Moore's future and he has been linked with Rotherham, who are managed by his father and former Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore. But Parry has moved quickly to tell fans at Prenton Park that no official offer has been received.
So, they're looking for strikers.
Quote:
Tranmere boss Les Parry is hoping to sign West Brom striker Kayleden Brown on loan ahead of the trip to Walsall in the first round of the Carling Cup.
Parry is keen to bolster his strikeforce after Rovers' disappointing 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Oldham in Saturday's npower League One opener.
However, Brown is unlikely to arrive until later in the week, while Parry has also been in talks with former Tranmere forward Eugene Dadi and another unidentified striker.
Parry has no new injury concerns and said he expects skipper Ian Thomas-Moore to fight for the cause despite him handing in a transfer request last week.

The Following User Says Thank You to GirlySports For This Useful Post:
Les Parry is expected to select from an unchanged squad for Tuesday's trip to Walsall in the Carling Cup.
Rovers didn't pick up any new injuries in the opening day fixture against Oldham, though Tim Cathalina, Marlon Broomes, Alan Mahon, Ash Taylor and Dale Jennings are all out injured.
Tranmere go into the match looking for their first win of the season and aiming for a place in round two of the competition. Last season a 4-0 win over Grimsby earned Rovers a second round tie against Premier League side Bolton Wanderers in which they lost a tight game 1-0.
The Saddlers are also hoping to pick up their first success of the 2010-11 season having started the campaign with a 2-1 home defeat against MK Dons. Chris Hutchings is now without striker Troy Deeney after he was sold to Watford on the eve of the season.
While the two clubs have never met in cup competition before Tuesday's fixture, they have played each other 62 times in the league, with Walsall holding a 29 wins to 21 advantage. Last season the Saddlers defeated Rovers 2-1 at the Banks's Stadium, but Rovers had won three of their previous five matches at the ground formerly known as the Bescot Stadium.

Joe Collister in net, Max Power not on the Roster.
I notice Ian Thomas-Moore is on the roster to play, would that not preclude him from playing for another team in the same competition were he to be tranferred?

Yup.
Still 0-0.
I'm not sure but the League Cup is just one leg right? So extra time and penalties?
