I think the whole country should vote in the same day

She really doesn't seem to like Biden though.
I think Klobuchar would be the pick. She endorsed him already probably with that in mind.
I could see him going with someone like Yang as well. Someone energetic and likable. Both have connections to Obama too.

Wouldn't that be nice? Shorten the election cycle in half? Alas too many people and too much money as always.

Not that Michelle Obama wouldn't necessarily be a good VP and eventual president, but surely in a nation of 350 million people it shouldn't be necessary to have even the appearance of nepotism at the top. Bush and Bush, Clinton and almost Clinton again, and now if it became Obama x 2... this kind of move only confirms the perception that the elites are a closed shop.

Ya, but the far right would lose their minds, so it might be worth it. That's how US politics works, right?

Hillary as VP would cause a far, far greater meltdown from the far right. They would already have their "she's gonna murder Biden to be President" conspiracies in full flight within hours.

You have to have a way to winnow down the candidates though. A national primary with 10 candidates would be a mess, unless everyone kept voting every week after removing un-viable candidates until someone had a majority. ranked ballots would still be too messy with that many candidates.
This actually worked out sort of ok this time around. I don't know that South Carolina definitely needs to go first. All the states before super Tuesday provided opportunity for big moves and elimination of candidates. Who knows, South Carolina may wield more power going this week vs going first.

He's already said that whoever the democratic nominee is, they're going to receive a ton of cash from him to support their campaign. He's not interested in splitting the vote.

Is anyone not tired of Hillary by now? The hard left and right don't like her, and I think the moderates are about done with her now too. I could see her bringing Coronavirus blankets to the white house.

Of course, just saying if the goal is to invoke a far right meltdown then Hillary is way better than Michelle. Michelle will just invoke a bunch of "she has a dick" memes.

Sanders says he won't take his money and now Bloomberg says he won't give it to him.
https://time.com/5792211/mike-bloomb...atic-campaign/
Bloomberg has been talking up Biden lately a bit and also saying Bernie doesn't have a chance to beat Trump. It's not out of the realm he'd run as an independent if he didn't think Bernie was a better option than Trump.

Possible, but I still think it's reallllly unlikely.
As for Bernie...jesus, man! Stop cutting off your nose to spite your face! We're all on the same team here.
This is why nobody in the party likes Bernie. He can't play the game, not even a little.
Maybe that makes him a good candidate, but I think it also makes him a fool. Not even trying to play nice with the rest of the party keeps him as an outsider, and it's an uphill battle to win any election without a little bit of support. Too much pride and ego in ol' Bernie. Principle over pragmatism almost never wins.

He is pretty much the same sort of idiot as Corbyn - relics of the 70's accidentally thrown into positions where someone actually takes them seriously.

In the interview I saw with Sanders, he said Bloomberg can do whatever he wants with his money. Basically saying if Bloomberg chooses to spend on ads to support him that's up to him, but Bernie's not going to chase it or accept it into his campaign coffers. What else is he supposed to say? He can't flip on taking billionaire money a day before the most important date in the primaries. His brand is built around principle and trustworthiness. He would torpedo his campaign if he flipped on that. I thought even the permissive, and reasonable, statement he made was stretching his brand a bit.

Bernie can't do anything if Bloomberg starts a SuperPAC to support him. I guess he could say he denounces it, but that would be pretty short sighted. Campaigns are still run on dollars and not hopes and dreams. And the GOP has a pretty substantial war chest when factoring in the SuperPAC money.
