There are cues for everything. In real life, it is speech, mannerisms and body language. Say you are sitting on a bus, does the person sit down beside you cautiously avoiding you or do they sit down and ram into you. Just ask recruiters (or poker players) about cues.

On social media, these are absent and replaced by writing style, and emphasis on things.

As you can see above, some view my presence on here as abrasive and disingenuous. Which is true sometimes. I do write in a matter of fact style even when wrong.

Yes, posting a video from that well known font of Fox News talking points... Anderson Cooper? Wait, that can't be right.

I have no love for Pete Buttigieg, but the reality is that he's doing exactly what he should be doing. He's constantly taking swings at the front-runner, so that he can cast himself as the antithesis of, and therefore the alternative to, that front runner. It's been pointed out many times that there needs to be a clear moderate challenger for those Democrats who won't support Sanders to coalesce around, and this is a good way to try to cast yourself in that role. I don't fault Buttigieg one bit for this. And as for the criticism, I don't think it's convincing, but it's not unfair, either. That video package wasn't exactly a smear job.

The other part of this is that it's probably good, if Sanders does win the nomination, that he's taking these kinds of shots for the first time in the primary rather than in the general. Takes a bit of the edge off.

He's a young gay presidential candidate that neither young nor gay people want anything to do with. I guess it is refreshing that his sexual identity isn't a focus at all and people just hate him for being a corporate shill

Is anyone else watching the Democratic debate tonight?

The moderators have no control over the candidates, Pete keeps interrupting and speaking over everyone else, Warren can’t say anything without bringing Bloomberg’s name into it, Bernie keeps hammering on the same issues over and over again, and Steyer suddenly seems like the most reasonable person on stage.

Minimum ticket price for the debate was $1,500.

What? Is that normal?

Moderation was completion non-existent. CBS is a fricking dumpster fire. PBS and C-Span should host all the debates from now on.

What a mess... CBS looking for ratings? Nobody wins that debate except Trump... They've all become characters of themselves.

Hotdish is an anything goes one-dish meal from the Upper Midwest, but it's especially beloved in Minnesota and North Dakota. ... Hotdish is constructed on a base of canned cream of mushroom soup and canned vegetables. The other ingredients are as varied as the Minnesota landscape
Definitely not boring.

No, it's not normal. It's why they boo'ed when Sanders mentioned literacy. They boo'd reading. Bought and paid for Bloomberg audience.

They were totally bought by Bloomberg. He got so many unnatural cheers from the audience it felt like a sitcom.

This is a great piece on why Bernie has gotten so much support, and may be the only real chance the democrats have of beating Trump

I watched part of that debate last night and then turned it off. What a train wreck, this was more like a high school yo momma yell fest then any kind of debate and the Moderators were completely terrible.

I don't know if it is possible to have a decent, meaningful debate with more than 2 or 3 candidates.
