I'm still watching. Have the last episode on PVR and haven't gotten to it yet. It's pretty standard Stephen King. Pretty decent on paper, but doesn't come across well on the screen. The acting doesn't help either. B movie material really.

For some reason I want to build a bomb shelter... I'm sure everything will workout for me.

Wow... This show is baaaaaaad. It has good people on it, but the premise, the reactions, the forced tension is brutal. EVERYTHING is a mystery and we are being kept completely in the dark on everything. It's like telling a joke that only you get over and over. Nobody ends up liking you in the end. We have to be let in on some of the secrets.

I'm not a big Stephen King fan and as someone said earlier, it doesn't translate well.

Simpsons version of under the dome was much better. What's weird is they're turning it into a breaking bad show but within a dome.

Why can't they just tunnel their way out? I've only seen the first episode and don't plan on watching anymore but I was just curious.

They tried, but the dome extends underground at least a couple of stories, maybe more. Might even be a sphere.

Its a painful show to watch.

Jericho kicks its butt every day of the week.

Watched episode 4 today. I'd talk about it, but the dome won't let me.

Wow..I thought it simply was a mini series and I would commit one season to it but not sure I'm going to watch next year as well.

The acting, effects and scripting aren't good enough for me to forget that I've read the book and watch this.

What's next season going to be about. People being trapped in a maze like cube . . . oh wait

I'm kind of finding it funny to read the hate for this series on here. I read the book when it came out and thought it was kind of "meh." I thought a better series could be made out of Cell if you wanted a more apocalyptic mystery series. Having said that, my wife and I are both enjoying the series in a "turn off your brain" sort of way. I've read everything King has written, she hasn't read any of it, but we're both enjoying it for what it is. Obviously it's just a matter of taste...

The book I would really like to see made into a series would be 11.22.63. Made by AMC, it could be an awesome series IMO. Mad men meets Continuum... Not to mention the Dark Tower tie-in elements.

Meant to set PVR to record this show and totally forgot. Based on the reviews I've read so far, doesn't sound like it's worth pursuing. Can anyone explain how this dome came to be and what it's all about? That was really the only reason I wanted to record it anyways.

2) Turn "Under the Dome" on
3) Enjoy

King has had some great movie translations, (Misery, The Shawshank Redemption, Stand by Me, The Mist) but I seem to find his television series end up being somewhere between uninspired and steaming piles. The lone exception my be the version of The Stand that came out about 20 years ago. It started out great, but I remember feeling vaguely disappointed by the end.

Not to say there haven't been some horrible movies too. But there are some gems for sure.

Nothing unbelievable about it. Broadcast nets are trying to make money, not make award winning content. As much as we don't like the show, we're somewhat in the minority. For a summer show, it has massive viewership.

So who's still watching this?

I am, and I can't honestly say why I am.

However the show can now be called "Under the Dome: Thunderdome".
