I've enjoyed the Ducks series so far.
and it should now get even better going forward.

I haven't watched letterkenney, so didn't know Dylan Playfair is Jim Playfairs son.

Anyone else notice that his mullet becomes more epic in every episode?

It was fully explosive amazing in this last episode.

I loled when he asked "What was that, pheasants?" after the game. I half-expected him to kick a garbage can and yell "IT'S ####ING EMBARRASSING!"

NSFW!

Watched the latest Ducks episode, I still liked it, there is something just really charming about the cast. EE knocks it out of the park.

I watched the first episode of I think its Long Shots with John Stamos its very much a Mighty Ducks clone but with girls basketball. I actually liked the first episode.

Love the fact that I'm re watching Firefly as well.

what gets me every time he's on screen I swear that Max Simkins who plays Nick is a clone of a young Sean Astin.

"It Always Sunny in Philidelphia" is on Disney+. It seems like it's only the first eight seasons but if you haven't seen this show it's very good!

I just find that so funny....

'Its always sunny' is about as far away from normal Disney property standards as you can get.

Same with Solar Opposites. I mean, it's animated but the language is very adult. Lots of F-words and even a C-word.

Not a lot of good, God-fearing 'Home Movies' fans left anymore....

The Flying V is a dumb move. But Blindfold Hockey is way worse.

Forfeiting a game when you could have just sat the injured player on the bench is pretty stupid too.

Great nostalgic moments and Estevez and Graham work well together but overall I was disappointed in the writing.

Big Shot is a similar underdog story with girls basketball. the writing is better and Stamos is really knocking it out of the park.

Ha ha, I thought the exact same thing. Couldn't they just dress her and have her on the bench? I'm like, why in the world would they just forfeit?

The blind hockey thing was real dumb, but I take the series for what it is. It's not suppose to be believable. I still enjoyed it for nostalgia sake.

Came here to say the same thing. I'm enjoying Big Shot way more than Mighty Ducks.

Youth hockey really doesn't lend it's self to the big football coaching moments that Americans want to see. Set plays are there but not something you can actually see, there's no halftime speech... Then you get guys from LA with a limited understanding of the game trying to shove those tropes into these shows.

I think the moments do exist in hockey, speeding up the bench, pulling the goalie, a good timeout, advice about how a player shoots or pivots.... Americans just haven't seemed to crack how to show that on screen.

(Also given that one of their players, literally was play sports commentating when he joined the team, they really should have had the Aberman talking to yourself on the bench thing happening, not everything that happens in youth hockey is on the ice, there are other ways to give the game depth, especially when your actors are average skaters at best).

All in all, I was pretty impressed the show was coherent, I wanted to like it, but kept my hopes low, and I'm unsurprised the worst parts of it were them trying to show hockey. I was somewhat convinced mid way through the series that the law firm the moms were working at was involved in buying/repossessing and tearing down the ice palace, I was surprised the big final conflict was them winning their name back (why Gilmore mom was in the neighborhood for work and stumbled upon the rink, why super boss mom bumped into her in the neighborhood for dinner, Emilio kept complaining about the rinks finances...).

I also endorse Big Shot, Uncle Jesse is just a quality actor.

my family is looking forward to Raya and the last dragon. It's free on disney+ starting the 4th.

I didn't mind waiting to save the $30.

Will do the same with Cruella. not spending $35 for that, either.

Cruella was better than I thought, I enjoyed it, but not worth the $35 extra. I was doing some UX testing for Disney+ last year. They never changed the passwords of the test accounts, so I'm still using them, behind a VPN of course just in case.
