Fan 960 talking about it now. Don Malony is the VP of Hockey Ops. Promotion in store for him? Fan saying BT will take over Burke's duties (although not with the official title), whatever that means.

As far as I'm concerned Burke did a great job. The franchise was a laughing stock when he took over. He brought back some respectability , and helped ease in a young GM. Thanks Burke

He has worked with TSN in the past in the very brief periods of time that he's been unemployed in the NHL.

Although I don’t know exactly what he was doing over last few months, I’m sort of sad to see him go. Ken King has clearly failed in his role and should be walking the plank. He has bungled the arena issue so badly that he has destroyed a lot of the goodwill towards the team.

I feel the same. All one has to do is pull up old CP threads from 2011 - 2013 with Feaster as GM and see how much of a laughing stock the team was. How quickly people forget how much respectability Burke brought back to the organisation relative to where we were previously.
There are so many things that go on behind the scenes we as fans have no idea about, and I have no doubt Burke worked hard at fixing many of those things behind closed doors.

Me neither but he totally won me over. He was never anything but the consummate Professional and I thought he brought a lot of legitimacy to our Organization during a time when our Coach, GM, President (King) and even Owner (Murray) were under fire.
He was always, ironically, the coolest head in the room.
And there is no evidence that he ever meddled.
He'll be missed.
Good luck to him in his future endeavours.
