Flames look to keep win streak going, visit the Kings
The matchup Saturday is the first meeting of the season between the two teams.
TOP PERFORMERS: Adrian Kempe has scored nine goals with 18 assists for the Kings. Trevor Moore has four goals and one assist over the last 10 games.
Elias Lindholm has scored eight goals with 15 assists for the Flames. Yegor Sharangovich has six goals and four assists over the past 10 games.
Rookie Connor Zary proving to be Flames' most impressive surprise
The GM didn’t see it coming, neither did the coach.
Both Craig Conroy and Ryan Huska were asked if they expected Connor Zary to make this much of an offensive impact this early, and the answer in both cases was a flat, “no.”
Yet, 23 games into his NHL career, the 22-year-old winger continues to be the club’s biggest surprise, with seven goals and ten assists to sit second only to one NHL rookie in terms of points per game.
Why Jacob Markstrom should be in the trade mix if the Calgary Flames are legitimately heading toward a rebuild
Most likely the Flames will try the retool-on-the-fly model as opposed to the burn-it-to-the-ground trek of the Chicago Blackhawks. Even so, another big-name player, who legitimately could have trade value, should be considered: goaltender Jacob Markstrom.

Taking a while to get to 5000
|
Probably only happened a few times but big wins right before Xmas over teams like the Blues and Kings makes me think the Flames always do well on the road before the break.

That tweet from The Scorpion just makes me really jealous for Dallas especially considering he didn't mention Borque or Stankoven. That is just an embarrassment of riches.

Yes, but that is also over a period of six years from 2015–2021. Zary was drafted in 2020, and the only players that Dallas had selected by this point in the same cycle are Heiskenen and Hintz. The Flames tend to draft really well, so this seems to me like a pretty realistic target.

The absolute 180s in Kadri's game as a Flame has been insane.
Deservedly the Flames rep at last years All-Star game, only to then become the biggest disappointment down the stretch, to starting this season the exact same way with little hope, to now arguably being the Flames best player since the moment Zary was called up and put on his line.
