It utilizes a fart-to-energy converter.

Also, how do you look to people in Facetime? Just a close up of my retinas I assume?

The Vision Pro is a ski mask. 😂. Most of what they showed was gimmicky but so far watching a movie would be really nice. No idea why you’d do FaceTime and some of those more personal things while looking like a goof.

Most of the executives dressed in jeans and speaking overly perky, sounds beyond ridiculous.

Mark Zuckerburg seen weeping in a corner somewhere...

I'm not convinced this still isn't unobtrusive enough to make it mainstream, or critical mass, but it's by far the best attempt yet.

$3500 usd to start? I think I am good with my old school phone and laptop.

I could never come close to a use case that justify that price.

Oof. $3499. Can’t say it’s not worth it but that price tag is steep. At $2600 I could see it selling to a large population but that much is quite steep. And that’s usd.

At first glance I was really impressed… I thought you could see through it, but it’s just 2 displays on the inside and outside… At that price point they won’t sell many… I’d rather have a big ass tv and sound system.

So it seems that Apple's offering is going to be a mixture of VR (virtual), AR (augmented) and XR (extended)?

I would assume that if it can't see your face, either you scan in a version of your face for face time, or you use that moving emoji face that is based on tracking your face movements?

I bought XR glasses for the purpose of traveling. Like on a plane. Agreed that it might not replace a full sound system, but for someone living in an apartment with people who complain constantly of sound, or someone traveling, I think it's an option that they didn't have before for an immersive experience.

Ya, you scan your face first, then it uses that as your creepy eyes and uncanny valley Facetime avatar.

Maxed out performance wise Mac Pro is only $13K cad. Not bad. I paid $35K for 7.1 model macpro only three years ago.

Base 15" Macbook Air is $1800. That's a tough one for me.

Holy crap. I know there are people out there who spent that much but what do you do for a living to need a $35k computer? Not being arrogant but genuinely curious. Wild.

One idea I thought of just now is pretty interesting. For years I was wonder about tv innovation and the importance of gate revenues interfering with the emerging of immersive virtual experiences. Initially I thought the NHL would never encourage innovation virtually because they’d never want to lose gate revenue. But if you’re sold a virtual seat at a game for a price that could be a new stream. I still don’t know about the crazy price of this headset but there are so many possibilities with this thing that we probably haven’t conceived.

How not? The M chips have been a step change in laptops. They are ugly as hell, but battery life and performance are just so far beyond their previous x86 offerings it makes going back to them impossible for me.

The tech in the headset looks very impressive, it seems like something where you'd have to try it to really get how impressive it is. Current AR seems to be ok-ish but it doesn't really feel really well done. If Apple has fixed that that's awesome.

Too bad it's too expensive for anyone to see it. Hopefully the tech filters down over time but if no one buys it hard for that to happen.

Last I heard the "consumer" version (aka cheaper, not "pro") isn't due for another couple years. They basically know this isn't going to sell in high numbers off the bat.
