If the Flames can play their game, it will be interesting to see how the Avalanche D handle the pressure. I still expect the Flames to lose this one 7-5

Very excited to see this Avalanche team in action...and to see what craziness Roy may have in store for us.

Sven absolutely has to play this game. The amount of young talent across from him almost makes it a must that he be involved on the ice.

A Hartley/Roy screamfest would be epic.

Not sure which is less likely, Calpucks Katy Perry ads making me buy her new CD or the Flames winning tonight.

Sven in (with any linemates other than Jackman/McGrattan): 4-1 Flames
Sven out (or paired with Jackman/McGrattan) 3-0 Avs

According to Hartley, Jackman / McGrattan are just too important to take out of our forward lineup. Sven sits, Monahan plays three minutes total, and McJacktan gets 17+ minutes tonight given their ability to be difference makers.

Sven is told to sit and learn how to play the game from McJacktan.

Roger Millions ‏@RogMillions 32m #Flames close roady in Denver. Look for Sven Baertschi to play. Should have big energy, Karri Ramo likely in gaol. For both critical game.

In other words, we may score a decent amount, but we'll likely get shelled going the other way.

Par for the course, really.

Flames are a funny team to figure out. Last night after the first 10 minutes, I would have said they were going to get their asses handed to them, but they made it close, so who knows this year.

I say Flames take this one. Why? No idea...

Will Berra get the start tonight? Is Baertschi in? Either way I think we'll see some momentum from last night's game and good games from Hudler, Cammallari, Monahan and Backlund again.

David Jones and TJ Galiardi are due for some goals.

Flames end 4 game road trip with a .500 record.

Flames win 5-3.

Couldn't watch last night due to personal reasons. I feel much better rested today, so I will probably tune in and see how this game goes. Nashville beat the Avs the other night, why can't the Flames do so tonight?

That was a rhetorical question, please don't list all of the reasons.

GO FLAMES GO!

The speed of the Avs could be problematic. Don't have a good feeling about this one. Jackman shouldn't draw into the line-up against this team.

Av's speed + Ramo's lack of lateral movement = Bad Times!

I really hope to eat crow on this one.

Don't worry, we'll blow around Sarich for 19 goals.

Nashville were the first team to really give the Avalanche troubles in their own zone. They did it by good puck movement and a strong cycle. If the Flames can establish a strong zone presence in the Avalanche end they should have a decent chance. If the Flames turn the puck over or decide to get into a track meet with the Avs, this one could get ugly.

Maybe, but I'm not thoroughly convinced. I suspect that the Avs are closer to an playoff-bubble team.

Every team plays well when they are on a roll, but Colorado is NOT anywhere near as good as either Chicago or St. Louis. It could be a blowout, but I doubt it, and I don't know why we should expect it to be.

I still think Colorado will come down to earth sooner or later. While their forward group looks fairly impressive, that defence looks horrible and their goaltending is average at best.

With that said, it won't necessarily happen tonight.

Avs are frauds. Easy win tonite 6-1. Sven Benchschi with 5 goals. Bertuzzied with the $1million annuity from Safeway.

I think the Flames match up against the Avs much better than they do against St Louis.

Having said that, the Flames probably iced their slowest lineup of the season last night - I hope Hartley gets them back onto to their skating game.
