Kirk makes this lineup MUCH deeper as the 8th/9th hitter. He was inches away from having a 2 HR game. Good for him for picking up his first home run. The first of many!

Cmon Font. Just throw strikes down the middle. This is ridiculous.

Font has to be DFA’d once arms start to get healthy. He has been absolutely awful this year.

If the Astros could epically choke away a playoff spot....2020 might start to redeem itself.

So much good happened tonight - Vladdy hitting it hard, Grichuk going the other way, Kirk of course, Hernandez, Bichette is starting to warm up...
Just what the doctor ordered.

Magic numbers...
Astros.: 6 (only need to beat one of Seattle or Houston)
Seattle: 3
Angels: 2
Orioles: 2
Detroit: 1
Royals.: 1
Redsox: 0
For playoff ranking...
Indians.: 9 (would move to 7th)
Yankees: 9 (would move to 5th)
Twins...: 10 (passing all 3 teams would move them to 4th)

Not to be a porcupine at the balloon party, but the bullpen is starting to concern me.
Giles is done
Merryweather is probably done
Hatch has been roughed up lately
Cole has been roughed up lately and his ERA is up over 3 now
Bass has been roughed up lately and his ERA is up over 3 now
Kay got roughed up and was optioned
Yamaguchi has his ERA down under 4 after that terrible start but the Yankees destroyed him a few games ago and it ballooned again. Hopefully just a blip.
Borucki, SRF and Perez have nice arms and stuff, especially out of the pen, but they walk too many batters.
It would be really nice to get Pearson and Romano back 100% healthy for some flame throwing high leverage situations. Murphy also looked like he might be an option going forward.
Anyways, hopefully just a product of that terrible series in Yankee stadium where they scored runs at will for 3 days and not something that keeps spiraling out of control going forward.

By far the most likely opponent for the Jays is Tampa, followed by the White Sox.
Outside chances at A’s, Twins, and Yankees.
I don’t hate it. Never thought I’d say that about the Rays, but we’ve played them well this year
