Actually, you don't need to be a franchise player to be able to spark and carry a line by yourself. Guys like O. Jokinen, Ribero, Derek Roy do a pretty good job of it.

Different positions, but I've liked John Carlson more since the draft and he's way more of an impact player. While Neimsz has closed the gap between him and Carlsson over the season, I still wish the Flames had Carlsson in their cupboard.

Jokinen is the only guy you list capable of cxarrying a line each night. The other guys are similar to Huselius. When they are "on" there game they can take over but too inconsistent to be considereed line carriers.

Good player, but not dynamic int he offensive zone. He can keep up with a good line and is good at both ends of the ice, but will never carry aline by himself.
I read somewhere on here that Nemisz has a nice quick wrist shot. Could you comment on that? I have only seen him play like twice on TV.
Also, has his skating improved at all? I know he was considered average at best on draft day, and it would be nice to have some decent speed on the wings...
I hope he can become a good second line physical forward.........a rich mans David Moss if you will.

One of the biggest problems with Neimsz right now is that he is looking for Hall and Loktionov a little too much. However, he does all the little things right and creates space well for his linemates. He hasn't really had a lot of garbage to clean up as Lokyionov and Hall both have blistering shots that either beat the goalie clean or miss the net.
His shot is hard, but as I said he seems to be focusing on passing too much. He needs to take the puck to the net with authority more often.

2 more goals for Backlund tonight as the Rockets beat the Hitmen 5-2.

He's been on quite the tear for a while now.......no offense to all those Hitmen fans out there, but I can hardly wait to see the kid in the Mem Cup.

The difference between Backlunds first 10 games as a Rocket and last 10 games as a Rocket seems to be a huge jump forward. I know there is something to be said for comming to a new team in a new country, but this seems to be over and above that. Friends of mine in BC (who see him and the WHL in general far more than I) suggest that Backlund could be the best forward in the WHL over the past couple of months or so. Great if that's true.

5 month old article on Aaron Marvin, but I don't think I've seen it posted before

"We felt that Aaron was an outstanding player for us (last season)," head coach Bob Motkzo said before the season. "He was one of our top penalty-killers and top centers, and we really felt he was one of our best players in the playoffs."
