Default GAME 9: Argonauts at STAMPEDERS

Toronto Argonauts at Calgary Stampeders
McMahon Stadium
Saturday, Aug. 26
Kickoff:
7 p.m. MDT
TV: TSN, ESPN3

Stampeders defeated the Argonauts in Toronto a few weeks ago 41-24. It is the same game the Stampeders chased Ricky Ray out of the game because of injury. Stampeders scored a TD on offense, defense and special team the last game.

OFFENSE:

What is wrong with QB Bo Levi Mitchell was the question last week after the Stamps defeated the Lions. Mitchell was not sharp at all that game and must have played his worst game since he took over as a starting QB for the Stamps. Stamps claims there is nothing wrong with Mitchell and he is not hurting. He just had an off game. Last game vs the Argos, Mitchell threw 3 TD passes and was pulled early in the game due to a lopsided score.
Jerome Messam left the game early vs the Lions due to injury. He was forced after a BC player hit Messam's knee. Messam, the CFL's leading rusher with 559 yards and 7 rushing TD, will be in the active roster tomorrow night.
Marquay McDaniel and Davaris Daniels had a pretty good last time they played the Argos with over 70 yards receiving yards and both players caught TD passes. R Marken Michel were good and bad last game. He made some great catches but he also dropped some passes.

DEFENSE:

MLB Alex Singleton and OLB Jameer Thurman had a great game against the Argos a few weeks ago. Both players registered 7 tackles a piece. Singleton had his first career sack in the CFL while Thurman had an interception vs the Argos. Singletonn also another 7 tackles game last week against the Lions. He also intercepted Jennings pass last week.
It looks like DE Charleston Hughes will miss the game tomorrow. He looks like he got injured on the fumble recovery last week. Defense is welcoming back some veterans defensive players in S Joshua Bell, LB Deron Mayo and DB Adam Thibault.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

What can we say about Roy Finch? He's been playing very well the last few weeks now and continues to be dazzling us with bck-to-back punt return TDs againt Hamilton 96-yards TD return and 103 yards punt return TD against Toronto the last time this two teams plyed against each other.

K Rene Paredes has been perfect in the last few games which is good after struggling early in the season.

ROSTERS MOVE:

IN: S Joshua Bell, DB Adam Thibault, LB Deron Mayo, OL/DL Quinn Smith and rookie Canadian receiver Julan Lynch.

OUT: DE Charleston Hughes, OL Dan Federkeil, R Reggie Begelton, FB/RB Ante Milanovich-Litre and DB Patrick Levels.

**********************************************
If the Stamps play their game and not get sucked in to dumb undisciplined penalties, I don't see Argonauts even be in this game. Stamps looks like they will take the first place position with the win against the Argonauts as the Eskimos will probably get their second loss in a row tonight against the Riders.

GO STAMPS GO!!!!!

Worried about this one after last week's train wreck.

Hughes out is bad news.

Hopefully BLM and the offense can start to gel.

Go Stamps go!

Go Argos! Nothing personal but it would keep Winnipeg in first.

He really is bad. I can't believe they can't find a better Canadian.

They did have a better Canadian (Sinopoli), but he likely was going to cost a lot more money than Parker plus he wanted to play for his hometown Redblacks.

Easy one to overturn, imo.

Does the cfl has different angles? I don't see anything in that replay that would overturn the field call. Looked to me that McDaniel's left arm was grabbed. Although hard to tell from the camera angle.

I'm liking that Bo is targeting Davaris Daniels more.

Nice meeting in the Argos backfield by Johnson and Singleton. Followed by J'Gared Davis.
