Michigan will keep this close enough for the loss to hurt. Hope is a poison.

USF becomes the first team in modern college football history with 24 straight games of 30+ points scored.

Why? Honest question.
I liked him at SF and thought it was a brilliant move to go to his former school.

Sweet merciful crap it may happen. ND and Miami still have some tough games before Nov 11 but my dream is one step closer to coming true.

Upset alert: Oregon State is 3:30 away from knocking off Stanford.

Maybe not, Oregon state blew it.

This Irish defence is for real. Huge 4th down stop.

Sounds like Miami wasn't very good against UNC so my hopes for them next week against VT are hanging by a thread.

Romo is getting a lot of love for his work but Doug Flutie might be the best colour guy in football. His insight is on par with Romo but he's seems more natural, doesn't talk too much and ramble. Gruden does a good job too.

Prior to this year Iowa state had one win ever against a top 5 team. They have 2 in the past month.

Holy ####! Buckeyes came back to beat Pedo State? Wouldn't have guessed that after 3 quarters.

First BCS (or whatever they call them now) come out this week, should be interesting to see. Latest AP poll has Bama and Georgia 1-2. Ohio State back up to 3 and Wisconsin at 4. ND knocking on the door at 5. Obviously a lot can and will change but we've got the potential for 3 of the 5 Power 5 conference champs being on the outside looking in. I don't see a scenario where two Big 10 teams make it but there is a case for two SEC teams, plus Notre Dame could plug into the 4th spot so it's realistic they leave out the Big 12, PAC 12, and ACC champs.

I'm thinking the top 4 is Bama, Georgia, ND and Ohio State. Or maybe Clemson fourth. Then I'd have PSU, OU, Miami in any order. Then Wisconsin.

Wisconsin looks good but haven't beat anybody of note and have a cakewalk of a schedule. I don't think they play a top 25 team all year except maybe in the B10 champ game. Their SOS isn't even in the top 50. I'm a big believer in SOS and I think the committee is too.

IMO in order it will be

Alabama
Georgia
ND
Clemson

All that will change by years end however....except Bama. They will roll on as they usually do.

Is it just me or does Ohio State always seem to be overrated in the rankings? Last year they got a place in the final four without winning their conference. Now they are ahead of ND despite playing what looks like similarly difficult schedules with their loss coming against the 8th ranked team compared to ND losing to the 2nd ranked team.

I don't understand Ohio State being ranked higher than Oklahoma given the H2H win, plus Iowa State not looking like such a bad loss after they beat TCU Saturday.

Anyone ever been to a SMU game in Dallas? I'm going down this weekend and checking out the Mustangs and UCF game on Saturday. Should be a bit of a shootout as both teams tend to score a lot of points.

Sooooo....

1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. Notre Dame
4. Clemson
5. Oklahoma
6. Ohio St.

really? The #1 team ALL season gets bumped to 2 on the playoff committees list? Weird even if irrelevant.

In a bit of a surprising move the CFP has UGA 1 Bama 2.

ND and Clemson 3 and 4 no surprise. Nice to see OU at 5 and Wisconsin at 9. I'm really liking the selection committees choices so far. Not just this year either.

Although nothing would please me more than one or more of Penn State, Clemson, OU or TCU get upset and Miami beat up on VT in a statement win.

Could set up ND Miami game as 3 vs 6/7/8 which would be glorious.
