Jays linked to Angel Pagan.

Makes sense with Zeke out after a collision with Barney, Upton hitting like crap and nursing a sore shoulder, Pompey out with a concussion, Pearce only really taking at bats as a DH to this point and Ceciliani as the only real healthy option right now.

Left field could be a gong show this season haha

As one of the pessimistic posters that you guys love so much in Jays discussion, I'm actually really excited for this line-up seeing it all come together now. I figured they'd put together a fake playoff contending line up and hope the fans just showed up.

They actually did very well and we have almost everything we had last year. Still kind of frustrating that if we were a little more patient we likely would have had Encarnacion too, that would have been an A+ off season, but I get it, they had to be careful as to not miss out on a replacement if he signed elsewhere.

Can't wait for opening day.

I'm hoping Pearce is the every day 1st basemen. Smoak is terrible and he's been exceptionally awful this preseason. Pagan would be a great add Even without the Cabrera injury.

Yeah agreed on both counts. Maybe we'll get lucky and Tellez will light up AAA this year and work his way into a late season call up. Hard to believe he'd be any worse than Smoak.

I had a pre-season game on the other day in the background and yelled at who I thought was Smoak looking ridiculous on like three straight curveballs and it ended up being Tellez. I felt great shame.

Tellez has much time to learn though, the ship has sailed on Smoak.

Pagan would be a good addition. Splits favor Righties too, which is a nice plus to the lineup. Only concerning thing is the failed medical.

The Orioles are apparently notorious for having ridiculously tough physicals, so i wouldn't be too worried.

But he would be the best option available. Even though he is a lefty, Carrera sucks at hitting righties. Pagan could also leadoff if need be.

Mat Latos won't make the Jays roster. He can either report to Triple-A or become a FA again.

Jays sign Chris Coghlan to a minor league deal. I'd rather Angel Pagan... but Coghlan is probably better then Zeke so I hope we see him soon.

Nice that he's a LHB that hits RHP well over his career.

Makes him potentially a better option to platoon with Upton than Zeke.

Plus, then you can hopefully get Pearce playing 1B more often.

Not a big Upton fan, but a 2 run HR and 3 RBI so far today. Be nice if he could do more of that this season.

I read that both Smoak and Upton had atrocious starts to spring training, but both have been swinging the bat much better as of late.

Donaldson
Bautista
Morales
Tulowitzki

Those 4 are clearly the backbone of the offense, and I think if they can stay healthy all 4 of those guys will have strong years, but it sure would be nice to see the supporting guys like Smoak and Upton not turn into offensive black holes.

It would also be nice if Travis could stay healthy for once.

Where did this Stilson guy come from? Looked good on the mound to me.

Blue Jays drafted him a few years ago. 3rd round in 2011

Expecting anything out of Smoak offensively is fool hardy. The guy has no business getting anything more than some late inning defensive assignments in the majors.

Mike Wilner‏@Wilnerness590
#Bluejays have placed Mike Bolsinger on waivers, they'd love to have him starting in Buffalo. This would indicate Tepera made it. #Jays

Leone was also one of the late bullpen cuts.

Would be great if he could find his rookie form from a couple years ago. Be like found money.

I figured Bolsinger would be the long man out of the pen. Good if he makes it to Buffalo though, and pitches as a starter. Will need him ready to start if anyone in the rotation goes down to injury.

Really too bad Sparkman broke his thumb. Is he back yet?
