The Flames are sitting pretty.

My guess is next year they don't spend to the cap so that they can fit both Ferland, and Tkachuk for 2019-20.

Also, this season will be the end for Versteeg, since his money basically turns into Backlunds'.

The Flames have some wiggle room, which makes for a more comfortable off season for BT.

I assume the major off season moves will see Ferland extended, Tkachuk extended, Jankowski bridged, Brouwer bought out and a defenseman or two traded away followed by a winger signing (free agent or involved in the aforementioned trade).

Im really hoping we can move a defensman for a 1st in the off season. Time to bring Anderson up next year.

I think logically one of Stone or Hamonic should be gone with a young cheap RD with higher upside ready in Andersson... But Hamonic being brought here for family/location reasons makes him seem pretty unlikely. though I seem to remember Stone signing with Calgary for similar reasons and I really feel like that rookie vet mix on pairing 3 makes the most sense. Hard to guess what they are going to do. I think Andersson will be the best of those 3 given the increased emphasis on puck moving and quick decisions lately in the nhl so I only hope they don't trade him.
