Thanks a ton for donating the tickets! It was awesome to meet you before the game and to talk Flames for a bit. Will have to share some more talk over a brew sometime. They were great seats.. really great access to the beer line too. When Petr, Scorp, and I were heading downstairs by the truck at the 2nd intermission, I had to duck away to get a beer and still caught up before they made it down the stairs.

It was a true honor to sit by calgaryboy for a game and to talk hockey with him. Told myself when it happened a few years back I'd try to meet him the next time he came back. Sorry you had to experience the suckiness of Gulutzan Flames hockey live, buddy... know that we also feel your pain.

Gotta say even with one of the most miserable losses of all time, had some great company to share it with. We looked like the oddest quartet ever, all 4 in different age ranges, but it was a blast even with the Flames spectacularly crapping the bed.

P.S. I also thought TheScorpion was Matthew Phillips when I first saw him.

It was really fun night no matter what. Thanks Rinkrat13 for another lovely Flames jacket and a perfect talk. Also really enjoyed the game with my 2 younger buddies. Way home from the Dome was nice with that "together meeting" of CP. Puppetguy, Rinkrat13, Dion,Scorpion, Aeneas /and his son/, SteelY and me. Gaskal left before that. Thx guys for that. Will send some not so good quality ones pics to Furnaceface. If he can post those in here for me.
It is really not that comfortable from the cell. Awesome evening! Hope Flames will be back in a better shape next season!

Flames forever!

Posted already in the PGT, but man that was a blast and I have never enjoyed a loss more. It was unlike any experience I've ever had at a hockey game and I am honoured to have been there. I hope I see all of you again, especially Petr -- it was a thrill and a great time, my Czech friend.

Petr and myself logged a lot of miles (avoiding potholes) these past few weeks and it's going to feel rather strange waking up tomorrow and realising there are no more practices to attend. I got to know someone who's love and passion for the Flames is on a level I have never seen before. A great person to be around and I shall miss him.

Have a safe trip home and be sure to bring your wife and daughter next time

It was during the 3rd period, during I believe the last 5 minutes (Flames had pulled the goalie early).

Went through last 5 mins of that game. There was one shot to the crowd. But that was not our section. So maybe will try last 10 mins of the game :-)

you know things are dire when a guy with a hand puppet generated more enthusiasm than the Flames did.

Last night was a ton of fun in spite of the game. And hell, the get-togethers with CP and Petr were all fun, too. Safe trip home, Calgaryboy. See you again.

I was walking by on the way out and I saw Petr taking a picture of everyone... I quickly jumped in hoping I was captured in the picture and eventually just ended up taking another one WITH Petr in it!

That was indeed a fun night. The game was crap and not the result we wanted, but seeing you all together and supporting the greatest Czech Flames fan ever is quite something!

Definitely wished I was around to see Puppet guy's puppet show.

See you on Friday, Petr!

I can only imagine what the puppet might have been saying while watching that game. Feel free to share a few lines...

Haha damn...do you remember holding your head in your hands in your head like this??

Then again, there's been a lot of that lately so might be hard to narrow it down! I'm certain it was the Sharks game .

Thank you Rhettzky for donating the tickets!
Yes, although the game/team sucked, I had a great time.
It was awesome talking to Petr the entire night and was nice to meet some nice young men from CP. I could not have sat with three better guys!
Nice to see Aeneas again, it has been a while and also nice to meet his son.

Petr, have a safe trip home and hope you can visit again someday.
Thanks for a great game night!

Sorry, slow on the draw.

All the pics from the trip are in this gallery.
http://www.stadevene.com/Sports/Czech-Trek-3/

If anyone has others they want added send them my way.

2 weeks goes by so fast.

Everyone start saving their cans and bottles for Czech Trek 4! Trip 4 will be in June/July and there will be three tickets needed. Petr isn’t allowed to come again on his own, the family must experience Calgary and area. By the end of June we’re also likely to have good weather!

Hockey might be over but summer will be starting...instead of Flames games they can come for Stampede and enjoy the awesomeness of The Rockies. Plus the draft...we might have some draft picks by then. I look forward to having full English conversations with Petr’s daughter when they come. We have a condo in Canmore for the family to make a home base in. 2020 sounds like a good date to shoot for.

I also highly highly recommend to anyone planning a European trip to put Czech in your plans. Great country, tons of stuff to see, and you’ll have Petr to visit! Maybe the next time the worlds are in Czech we need to plan a CP trip.

To my Czech friend I say thanks for coming and thanks for making the last couple of weeks fun. It’s always great to see the city, the team, and everything else through your eyes. I’ve said many times to people who want to know what you’re like: “Everything is exciting to him. Petr will get pumped about everything that he sees. Even a stupid snowstorm is an event for him. He lives life to the fullest.”

Děkuji příteli!
