No question you run the team MVP. can't take any chances, Smith is by far and wide the number 1 and you run him like a rented mule.

Glad that Gillies was able to get a decent amount of time in. He wasn't good enough though and I'm sure he recognizes that - has to go back to Stockton and improve his game.

I disagree. I believe he showed a lot, including mental strength when things went sideways.

5 starts, 2-2-1, .904, 2.79 - but break it down by games

Win - .946, 2 GA
Win - .966, 1 GA
Loss - .923, 1 GA
Loss - .889, 3 GA
OTL - .875, 4GA

All of this while the Flames were playing some of their worst team defence since October.

I think he showed well, and there’s lots of reason to be excited for him going forward.

Yeah I liked Gillies. I think it showed both of them need time as a back up to a legit starter before taking a starting role.
