One of Rittich/Gillies/Parsons will be traded for a goalie who can play NHL minutes now imo, either in a package for a good starter (Mrazek/Schneider/Murray etc) or straight across for an expansion eligible backup. (Pickard/Kuemper etc) McDonald will also probably be traded for futures I bet.

Either that or the team will do the right thing and use Rittich/Gillies as backups this season. It's time for some prospects to sink or swim instead of filling the spots that prospects have to take with bad veterans.

Schneider back to WHL.
Parsons ECHL/AHL
MacDonald ECHL/AHL

I don't think you make Parsons and MacDonald a tandem in the ECHL. Maybe you do? I am curious if the Flames end up re-signing Rittich. Huska spoke highly of him. Pascal spoke highly of him. He came over and did well in the AHL. Did fine for his first ever showing (a half game - small sample size is small) in the NHL too. Unless the Flames looked at Rittich as a stop-gap only, and needed to completely blow them away to be considered a long-term asset, I would say he has delivered on his potential thus far, and should be re-signed.
My preference would be

Rittich NHL Backup
Parsons AHL 1A
Gillies AHL 1B
McDonald ECHL Starter
Schneider WHL Overage

Doesn't Parsons have to stay in CHL or NHL next season?

He's a 1996 birthday, so he's gotta go pro next year. He's not able to return to the CHL.

Parsons has a late 97 birthday so he could return as an overager like Schneider but there is no need.

Yeah, Parsons has started for 3 straight years in the OHL with two straight years of 0.920+ sv% (playoffs included), a Memorial Cup and a WJ U20 Gold Medal.

Time for the next level.

Yup. His resume is already insanely impressive. It's kinda too bad goalies never make the NHL jump from juniors. I can't see him sticking in the AHL long enough to win a Calder cup, especially with the Heat. Not unless Jankowski returns or the Flames acquire a top AHL centre.

Didn't know where to post this but Phillips has been selected for Canada's world Junior summer development camp. Not bad for pick 166.

Lol nvm it's been posted

per Everett reporter, Tuulola will be playing in Finland next season, HPK has recalled him

Jesse Geleynse‏ @JesseGeleynse
Calgary didn't sign Eetu Tuulola by June 15 deadline, so he returns to HPK of the Finnish league

The above explains the contract situation a little more in depth. The Flames still retain his rights, but he's playing back in Finland this year.
