Isn't that essentially LEGO 'digital LEGO'? And then what, LEGO Minecraft (the video game)?

Exactly! The circle of win will then be complete.

I agree. The Lego sets are becoming too much. I prefered the generic blocks and pieces to these very specific pieces that come in some sets that have no other use, except that if you lose the manual those pieces are pretty much useless.

When I was little, I loved the Tecniks with all of the types of gears and and some motors to drive them with.

By the way, will the LoTR Lego Hobbits be half-size?

If you google street view Lego Land, the little yellow google guy you use to navigate the map, turns into a Lego figure if you go through the park.

I love lego when I was a kid, you could build anything and with some of the spin pieces create some awesome moving parts as well.

I remember building a hand gun with lego, and I went to take my buddy prisoner and when he didn't walk fast enough I smashed him over the head with it and it blew up like a bomb.

We used to have icecream buckets full of the stuff and our inventions were certainly colorful.

After lego, I moved on to the incredibly unsafe mechano which had guns that fired little white pforjectiles from a spring loaded breech at about 100 miles an hour.

R2D2 is awesome.

I also saw the Lego Shuttle Expedition at Crossroad Market a couple weeks back. That was a tempting purchase.

Dang I think one could buy it and ebay it for a tidy profit.

EDIT: Or maybe not, not as much as I'd thought.

A quick look on eBay tells me you might be able to get it cheaper. The prices are all over the place.

I ordered one. Kinda wish I had ordered two.

I also ordered the Parisian Restaurant. The modular buildings are fun builds.

Nice!! It took a lot of effort not to order the big Sydney Opera House one!

I ordered two, though had to order two separate ones, couldn't figure out how to add more than one to my cart.
