What a huge get for the Chargers. He’s rumoured to be bringing Minter with him to be DC as well.
If he got to a Super Bowl with Kaep he should probably create a dynasty with Herbert.

Only issue may be Spanos and resources.
It is ideal for Harbaugh; with no GM, Harbaugh will get a token administrative GM, and get the power he wanted in SF that the GM and owners didn't want to give him, and cut him loose.
While the Chargers haven't spent as much as the Rams since moving into the new building together, they've managed ok.
If Harbaugh has the same effect on the Chargers as he did getting a bunch of 49ers to play they did (who all turned to pumpkins when he left), it's a good hire.
Next up, Belichek and Vrabel.

You could do a lot worse than Fangio as DC. A lot worse. He led the Dolphins to their first top 10 defense since 2010 despite the unit being decimated by injuries. Not exactly sure what candidate out there you think is better.

The Fangio scheme that the Eagles have tried to mimic over the years isn't even the same scheme Fangio himself employs to a tee now.

Not sure if any of the top candidates are going to work for Tepper so he was always going to have to hire a reatread or young coach happy to get his first gig. On the surface it looks like there's potential he can get Young on track but it certainly feels like he's being fast tracked after being an OC for one season. Sometimes really good coaches end up being guys that aren't hired with great fanfare like with McVay, Tomlin, John Harbaugh, etc. That roster needs a lot of work though so I wouldn't expect a worst to first finish even in that division.

I don't think it's a bad gamble at all, in fact I kinda like it? If Canales can work some of the magic he did with Geno/Baker then Young is salvageable and obviously that's good for Carolina. If he can't save Young then he's a short term coach who is easy and cheap to fire when you blow it up to start over again.

Not really a surprise.
Belichek, like Harbaugh, wants similar control to that of a GM.
Chargers look to be hiring a GM from the Ravens, obviously some brotherly Intel, but Harbaugh will get a fair chunk of say given his contract.
Falcons I don't think have a GM, but they have Rich McKay who the coach and GM report to, and McKay then talks to the owner. So besides that dynamic with a guy who Belichek has to report to (I am sure he reported just to Kraft) from things I've read he and Belichek have been in the competition committee for the league and have been at odds. So that relationship won't work.
He may miss this cycle (not going to work in Seattle...Washington?)but if he does, you'll see teams who fall out of the gate next year, clean the decks off Walt to bring in Belichek who will get the power he wants.
Or, plot twist, Reid retires this offseason and Belichek takes his place.

Sounds like Staley is meeting with the Packers, Dolphins and Rams for the DC position.
